PhotoSpills will let you put any number of photos in a grid. I just created this collage of about 550 photos as an example. I used the Matrix command and set the collage to have something like 22 rows by 40 columns. That would actually allow for 880 portrait photos, but each landscape photo takes the position of two of those portraits. So, you have to do some guessing or math.

All PhotoSpills collages are created as 2000x3000 pixels. So, resolution suffers when you use hundreds of photos. Plus, each photo gets extremely small.

The software is free. I am the developer. You can see lots of sample collages on Instagram -- https://www.instagram.com/photospillscollages/

Download the software at -- http://www.photospills.com

Hope you find a good solution.

You did well. I downloaded your sample collage and opened it to full size. The individual images were easy to see.

However... it's a .exe file. No Mac? [sob]

I was born and raised in Philly, now in Chester County. I was in the first class that started yearly versus 2 classes- Northeast, 1965. Your post is very cool and informative!

For those who care, the Philadelphia School District graduated two classes each year—January and June—until 1966. Our January class was slightly smaller than the following June class. I don't know why our gender makeup was 57 percent girls and 43 percent boys.[/quote]

Thank you, Dr. Harvey.

The first annual class was 1966. There were both January and June 1965 classes at Olney, so Northeast must have been the same.

I lived in Feltonville from fifth grade through college, but usually trolled Northeast girls.

Didn’t know Picasa had that feature.
I could have used it last month.

I was thinking the OP was asking about a photomozaic, where you have potentially hundreds of tiny photos combine to make up one large photo.
I’ve done it several times, but don’t have access to a sample at the moment.
A program like EazyMoza makes it simple to do.
More here: http://www.easymoza.com/index.php?t=10
This is not free but pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the EazyMoza link. That is absolutely fascinating. Can't wait to play with that.
