The beam of sunlight was on the small patch of Heather , there was no other sun in the whole yard. Jen

Awesome shot Jen! Well done and a good eye. Isn't it strange how your shutter finger feels when you see things like this? Folks always look at me strange when I turn and go to the truck for the camera. You are starting the long journey of being hook on this! It is a fun ride isn't it. :)
Erv
Thanks for the smile too!!!

I haven't posted in a while, and haven't had time to browse the photo gallery as much as I like-I'm sure I've missed so much!

I'll try to catch up today.

I looked out the window at my parents and there was this one sunbeam, from the setting sun.

Of course I grabbed my camera and sat in the grass.

often its simply the noticing that is enough - and too often times it is the sitting that is enough. Often times the image resulting is not what we saw with eyes of delight, or felt as the last sunbeam of the day warmed our hearts. Often times it just the time we give ourselves to be present and fully experience a moment here - a moment there - which gives us an experience of joy.

Jennifer,

Beautiful photo. Great light, well exposed. What would it have looked like as a vertical composition?

Keep up the good work.
