Toyota or Honda or Subaru is the answer to that one.

I'm a Toyota man, myself. Wife drives a Honda, and daughter's boyfriend drives a Suburu. We've got them all covered! Used to be a Chevvy man, but I also had a couple of Fords over the years! Perhaps I should have used "Nikon or Canon" or "Pentax or Leica"?

For those NOT using a Mac, products such as Pinnacle Studio will let you drag 'n drop still photos into a timeline, designate the display time, choose transitions, pan and zoom etc. You can even generate your own royal-free music. I've used this product to make a number of short videos from stills for fundraising for an orphanage in Peru and others.

I took a bunch of pictures of a sunset and want to make them into a movie. It was suggested to me that I do his project as a learning excel isle to watch how the light changes from minute to minute. I understand that Lightroom does this but, I have never even opened it.

Does any one out there know how to create a movie from stills?

Thx, olc

I've made a couple of really cool movies using Photoshop Premier Elements. It's pretty basic, but it should more than do the trick for what you describe.

I have done movies from still jpgs using Adobe premier. It was all drag and drop doing it until I set it to a sound track. Drag and drop then open the image to more than one frame by stretching the image on screen. It was pretty much all just drag and drop images. If you pull the frame to the right it will make more frames. Then save it all as a movie to a dvd. I did it in Premier 11 but now I have premier 17. I think it can be done in pinnacle too. Both programs are sort of inexpensive under $125 bucks. The Pinnacle comes with a dongle to upload movies from tape or digital analog outputs.

Last I saw, Appleā€™s Mac has 11% market share.

The major reason Windows has such traction is cheap hardware, through race-to-the-bottom competition.

Another major factor is that most folks only understand up-front savings... They have NO CLUE about long term costs of ownership, which are much higher with Windows.

...

And how the long term cost of ownership is much higher with Windows? I cannot agree with this statement.

In the early years Apple was very secretive about their hardware and OS for Mac. That's why there was no competition, but also no partnership in software development.

The PC hardware on the other hand was always open to duplicate, and the OS was friendlier for software development, plus Microsoft encouraged sw developers to participate. And that stimulated comparatively low price for Windows systems and their much much wider deployment.

In a world without fences and walls, who needs Gates and Windows?

Yeah, but you can't put a price on reliability in software performance. I'll never go back to the Microsh%&*t world.

Yes, Mustang or Camero, Nova, Corvette. Especially the GT, SS, or R versions.

My wife and I have owned in order 1971 (307 V-8) Chevy Nova, 1966 (Slant 6) Dodge Dart, 1972 (302 V-8) Ford Mavrick (fast, but crap), 1983 Nissan Sentra (crap), 1989 Honda Accord, 1984 Toyota Camry, 2006 Mazda 6i. And she is leaning towards a Subaru for her next car.

For driving every day: Honda, Toyota, Mazda.

For potential drag racing: Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Nova.
(some guy at a NHRA Pomona event had a factory 1970/71 Chevy Nova SS with a 427 V-8! I questioned him, how did he get that. Funny thing it turns out, Chevrolet never sold the 427 CID version as a "Nova", it was dealer order-able under some bogus name.)

That is surely ironic. IBM buying Macs! But why should IBM be "friends" with Bill Gates and Intel after Gates lied and out-smarted them over PC-DOS vs MS-DOS ages ago. Leaving Microsoft free to license MS-DOS to anyone they liked and so buried IBM. Yes, I know the difference between PC DOS and MS DOS MOBOs and O/Ss. Brilliant on the part of Mr. Gates!

Sorry, I meant to tell you to use Photos and not iMovie. iMovie will work also, but Photos is faster. After you edit your images, import them into Photos and then create a slideshow. You can choose music from iTunes for a background. Sorry for the confusion. It's been a long day for me, so I apologize for this gross mistake. If you are unfamiliar with this feature, go to Help and download and print the manual. It's not difficult to use, but not always as intuitive as it should be. I really like this feature because it's quick to use once you get the hang of it

tomcat, Thanks for heads up with Photos. It works great for my purposes!
