Also, is it possible that with firmware upgrades that the manual is out of date. I know that the sizen cards that a Nikon d80 supports in 2018 did not even exist when the camera first went to GA. So I would consider the question asked a valid technical question

jeffs ----- THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Im happy to read your reply... I appreciate the time you took to share your story - you hit the nail on the head!!!!! Sometimes it's nice to come here (feel welcomed) and not feel 'silly' for asking a question. Im not thee most technical person when it comes to all the workings of the camera. Sometimes, somewhere, someone may have found THEE thing that will help ......

Have a beautiful day!!!!

kdogg - love your photo!!!

Thank you for your reply!!! I called Canon in the beginning (camera is a couple of years old), I made sure my settings were where they should be - everything in place. I think at first I had a slower card, now not so much. It is frustrating. I will call again as maybe there is new information. I will for sure update you!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Photomom, I suggest you make sure you've got the latest firmware installed in your 7D. I owned one before I got the 7D MkII and it would take 29 raw images in burst mode using UDMA 7 CF cards. Namely I'd use the Lexar 1066x cards. There's something wrong with your cameras buffer, firmware, and/or CF cards if you are getting "busy" when taking only one image.

pmorin, have you ever received a 'busy' signal???

I have posted on here before about some trouble i have had about the 'busy' signal and most answers were the card - so I thought i had the best card, I do think Lexar might be a better brand (??)

It is a 7D - not MKii .... i do shoot some night sports, it's not in a fast frame but single shot I receive these 'busy' signals .... drives me crazy!!!!

Thank you everyone!!!

I shoot a 7dII and had a 7D. Have used Lexar cards in all my cameras, both SD and CF and have never had one fail me. All I use is the Lexar Professional 1066x UDMA7's. If the firmware is up to date, and you tried different cards (with the same results) and settings are all in place it might be an issue with your camera and time to have it visit the Canon Doctor...I have used their services a few times and always have had my cameras and lenses returned 100% fixed. They have the best customer service, keep you updated every step during the repair and I even had them call me with updates. Turn around time is amazing...

I like SanDisk. But I couldn't say whether it is "best".

Oscar, I just do not understand why you feel it necessary to demean others. Are you having a bad day? Did you poop yourself again? Or maybe it’s the Hawaiian disease, lacanookie. Whatever it is, you really should chill out. Nobody attacked you, but still you want to berate others for no reason other than making yourself feel better.
It’s time to face the facts Oscar,
YOU ARE A TROLL

If you think asking a question that can be readily obtained by reading a manual not a LAZY thing better think again. In fact do a little research on the line of questions this same person has posted in the past and you will find a lot of these were already easy to find in the manual. If you like to kiss butt unconditionally, please continue but some here are just tired of the same LAZINESS.

And finally I am not a troll, thats the perfect name calling from someone without any logical argument, nor I need to chill out. Invest your time better, like in your mediocre images, instead of trying to sound smart. Of course you post mostly in the Gallery where you will surely get what you crave.....empty praise.

Photomom: I believe your question has been answered and before this degrades further the adults in the room should declare the topic closed.

Maybe not the card, you mentioned night shooting. I don't know about the 7d but with my 7Dii using the 'long exposure' noise reduction or the 'high iSO' noise reduction will extend the procesing time by an additional time equal or greater than the original shutter speed causing a redlight delay. Turning the reduction compensations off fixed it for me, possibly for you?
