I just wanted to double underscore that the latest weekly photography challenge has new rules!
One new rule although not compulsary we should not be submitting archive images. Out of the 10 on there so far I have checked and none of them were shot this week. I do apologise if your image was not from archives because 2 of 10 had the exif data striped and I could not check.
The second new rule is that ALL entries MUST include a description. The more elaborate the better. Can I please point out that the little girl splashing in the water feature is an excellent image but the description remains as "untitled". This will not be allowed as of this week so if possible I suggest you try and add a description to it.
Come on guys n gals stop with the archives and get creative! Shoot your entries the week the challenge comes out.
Sorry I didn't see the new rule about arcived photos. I have deleted my entry.

I'm not saying delete your images! I am saying that we should be thinking with our creative minds I do not enforce the rules of the competitions but I personally WILL NOT enter one of my archives.
The new rules suggest steer away from archives and it is not yet compulsary but another new rule is all entries MUST include a description. Somebody might struggle in the driving gail for days to get one image where somebody can pluck one out in 10 mins or less. Tell your story how the image was captured and this might bias the voting procedure.
Please re-submit an image if you can or go and shoot what the definitiom "Wet" means to you this week.
Just make sure you include a description.
Honestly St3v3M suggested to me that I will probably end up hating him but get better images as a result and I am sure that you hate me already but surely this will develop each and everybodies photography if we all shoot to the brief.
No I don't hate you. I missed the arcive statement. I understand your feeling and I am willing to pull my picture to conform. No hard feelings. It hasn't rained here for so long wet is a memory. Heck last week we found a catfish in a dry creekbed and had to teach it swim before we could put it in the lake.
where do I find all the info.? rules, etc. Have a photo I took this evening.

If you goto home on the links at the top of the forum all the competitions are there. This weeks is "Wet" so click that. At the top there is a paragraph and a link saying start here. The rules are there.
Good luck
Oops, well I am only a few weeks out.... but yes i agree that encouraging us to shoot THIS WEEK does get the creative juices flowing and makes us get out there and practice our skills.
Maybe some of the rules should be highlighted? Esp for us new members, and some daft old ones :)
I do agree (having read them just now) that all should be including a description. This adds to our sense of getting to know each other a bit better.
sorry folks, but can someone enlighten me to when, what and where I can look at pics or send them. Dont' know anything about a competition.

I've deleted my entry as well. Sorry, did not see that the rules have changed.

Every week St3v3M puts on a weekly photography challenge and gives us a theme. So far we have had:
Red, white & blue
Dog day afternoon
Ice cold
and this latest weeks challenge theme is "Wet" you can find it here:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/photo_contest.jsp?pcnum=15Please be sure to click the link that says "start here" and read the rules.
By clicking home at the top of this forum you will goto the forums home page and all the competitions are listed at the bottom of this page. Check out previous entries and the winners.
One more important thing: DO NOT submit your entries to the link that says "start here" this is for any discussion about the competition. Instead in order to keep things anonymouse goto the upload buttun onder the images that are already entered and submit yours there. Remember to give a description of how and why you choose that image or it will not be counted under the new rules.
Please will everybody stop deleting their images. The exact wording of the new rule is as follows
"Archived photos are not encouraged - please shoot your photo during the challenge".
Here you can find the full rules:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-52832-1.html#867801Not encouraged does not mean not allowed. I think eventually St3v3M will make this rule compulsary but the competition is a bit of fun and he breaks people into the new rules gently.
Only my two cents, if you exclude archived images, then you may exclude a large population of UHH users. For example Ice Cold is very difficult for a Florida resident and as Festina Lente indicated "Hot & Dry" eliminates half of the country, if the images have to be taken within the contest timeframe. Perhaps the image should be taken within the last twelve months?? Gary
