Br-r-r-r-r!! I recommend putting on a parka before you look at these! Notice the static electric discharge along the film in the second frame...it was so cold that just advancing the film triggered that phenomena.

Thanks for hosting the challenge, Judy. Tried some of these ideas recently on an overnight outing to one of the Highland Lakes in Central Texas on the (Texas) Colorado River.

Not much ice on the lakes and rivers down here in Texas. Spent a little time on and by Lake Buchanan a couple of weeks ago. Walked around a little the evening before the activities the next morning. Winter down here is kind of like spring without new greenery, or fall without leaves on trees.

p11 The last 2 are very appealing the colors are vibrant and the composition spot on IMHO

Not everyone suffers snow and ice in winter. The attached photos were taken in Alice Springs in Central Australia in July which is the middle of winter here. Blue sky, sunshine and dry river beds, although it sometimes gets a little frosty at night.

p11 Wonderful to be reminded that it's not all ice and snow...

p 12 Boy! I will refrain from remarking about this brain. - it would be too sarcastic. However, my brain must look like this sometimes. Pockets of info held together by mush.

We had some wintry weather, this year..
The neighbors were a little down on their luck,
So I put out some corn...
The view across the river from our house
early in the frost,
And my grandson in his first snowball fight with his daddy...
And the sunrise Jan. 20th was pretty...
Just don't mind the wire through the trees...
