Sounds like a good idea and this, from a guy who I am embarassed to say works for the worlds largest camera retailer and does not at present own a camera! Having admitted to the aforemened, permit me to give back to this fine community of photo enthusiasts just a small contribution in the way of a video we recently put up on our YouTube site which is an introduction to HDR and is being very well received. One of these 'ol days, I might win the NYS Lottery and get myself set up gear wise the way I'd like to and chip in with some photos. Until then I will have to make do with the occaisional comment and helpful link as my contribution and humble symbol of gratitude. I hope you find the video informative and useful.

All the best to you my fine photo friends!

Hershel,

Just wanted to say, I love B&H! I have received excellent products and service from them!

I was on my tablet and when I saw your post about the HDR videos that B&H have on You Tube and ran in to get on my laptop to view them! Tablet is to small to get full benefits......LOL

So, while you may not do much in photography. Your post is very important and appreciated by me. Have a great day and thanks!

I have been wanting to do this for some time, but only have CS2. Do I need more? Thanks for starting this.

Doe,

It's truly a priveledge to bump into people who are familiar with B&H and say "hello" just as it is a priveledge to work here. I've always had this fantasy of meeting all of the people I conversed with on the net, greeting them and giving them a tour of the store when they came to NYC for a visit. That would be one large and happy party, LOL!

Thanks for being a customer and hope meet and greet you one day :)

Just as a heads up for Canon users who are unaware or haven't gone into Canon's software update section lately - the latest version of Canon's DPP software has HDR processing built in and it is a pretty good and easy to use facility. It works with our raw files and the results are pretty fantastic.

I am all for a HDR forum. I use HDR quite often and would love to contribute and get feedback on my work.

I am thinking about starting a HDR forum here on the UHH. I'm not sure how to manage it, or if I can, but I feel it is needed. HDR is becoming a part of our photography we can not ignore, and there is a lot of great information out there. I would want to be able to let all of us share links, show our photos, and explain how we do it. I would like your input on this subject, and if there is enough support I will move forward with this plan. Let me know if you want a SEPERATE FORUM and would you contribute. I would want only information on HDR, you can show what you used "3-9 photos" and the final product. So let me know what YOU think.

I think this tutorial uses CS2:

There are other programs out there that may do a better job though. I have CS5 and just started exploring HDR less than a year ago.

I would like that, for I am thinking HDR, wanting to learn how to do it and add it to my photography... I enjoy HDR pictures very much... Thank you for the thought.

There are several good HDR software programs on the market and they work well with Photoshop and Lightroom. The two I mainly use are Photomatix and Nik's HDR Pro. I also bought Topaz but haven't had a chance to play around with it yet.

Hershel,
Next time I am in NYC, I'll stop in and say hi. I buy predominantly from B&H and have been for years even before I ventured into the DLSR world.

Nice to meet you.

I have been using HDR often. I use it only to bring out the depth and details of the pictures. I use it only on certain pictures that I want to enhance with detail.

I think it would be great to have an HDR forum on here. I am very much interested in learning all I can about it too. I will send more pictures later..
