That looks like the Green Flash (upper right), but it's in the wrong spot.

Count me in....I think this is a great idea! HDR is a fun and creative component of photography (not that I'm good at it).

Sounds like a good idea and this, from a guy who I am embarassed to say works for the worlds largest camera retailer and does not at present own a camera! Having admitted to the aforemened, permit me to give back to this fine community of photo enthusiasts just a small contribution in the way of a video we recently put up on our YouTube site which is an introduction to HDR and is being very well received. See the link below:

One of these 'ol days, I might win the NYS Lottery and get myself set up gear wise the way I'd like to and chip in with some photos. Until then I will have to make do with the occaisional comment and helpful link as my contribution and humble symbol of gratitude. I hope you find the video informative and useful.

All the best to you my fine photo friends!

I've been playing with HDR for a couple of years. I started with Photomatix, then started using the HDR built into CS5 and finally I bought the complete set of NIK plugins that includes NIK HDR eFex Pro, which I now use exclusively.

The one below was done using the CS5 HDR process. I was at Arlington National Cemetary with just my K5 and no tripod. I had to lean against a tree to shoot the 3 bracketed images.

This [the picture taken at Arlington] is one of the best examples of HDR that I have seen. I am very interested in learning more about HDR and will be taking classes in the fall using Photomatix. Here is one example of my efforts

Save it smaller. The depth of your HDR will be lost in the bowels of the internet anyway, so saving it smaller will not impact the display that we see.

Thanks MadMike for starting the HDR forum. This is something that sparked my interest a few years back when I started seeing those images in NatGeo that had such depth, I wondered how it was being done. Downloaded a couple HDR filter programs from the web and decided to go with PhotoMatix because of the control it gives, yeah I know you can do a lot of it in PhotoShop and PhotoPaint but dedicated programs streamline the process for those without the technical knowhow. Looking forward to learning some new tricks from you and others that see a place for HDR images.

HDR, bring it on...as long as we all can be open minded, positive in our constructive criticism, original in our quest to create, why not HDR

Great idea! Do we have to post a photo on the HDR forum in order to give some advise? I have experienced some things that at the time I didn't realize would be a problem later. It might be helpful to others that are new (like me) to the HDR process. And I would be interested in what others know about HDR that they have found difficult or helpful.
