Nice sets yesterday and today. Care to share the place? I'm not that far from DE.
Thanks Bill.
I'd rather not post the location on the internet. Too many people showing up with cameras might scare the birds away.
I will give you a hint. All these shots were taken south of Dover. The birds can be seen from both my kitchen and garage windows, 10 - 15 feet from each. I shoot from the garage.

Great shots, Bill, the right composition, exposure and especially the shallow DoF!
Those are beautiful shots but looking at the histogram they lack in the dark areas.
I edited using Curves in Photoshop correcting the tonal range.
To me it looks great now.

It was a toss up. The tones are better for sure, but now there is a lot more noise. At ISO 1250 the D300 starts to get a bit finicky.
Thanks for your interest!

Do not let noise bother you. I shot weddings with ISO 400 film and I never had a customer telling me she was not satisfied with the images.
There are excellent noise reduction softwares. I use Topaz Denoise to entire satisfaction but do not use it often.
