Hi Clifton.. Most long time photographers here will recommend B&H. They are honest and have professional info to give. On line orders are at your door next day or up to 3 days depending on what state you live in or UPS>>>
If you live close to their 3 story store, its worth a trip just to walk around their huge store...

My son purchased $9,000.00 worth of camera products from B&H. Had no problems and items were received excellent condition. Sales staff helped him thru his first purchase as if he was doing business with them for years. The customers are their valid employees.

And what did the other post say about them? Stick with B&H, Adorama, Cameta, Roberts, Samy's. If you find a deal on either of the two places you mentioned that is much better than the others, its either grey market, or they will bait and switch you.

Cameta is another good camera store. The only 3 I deal with are 1 Adorama 2 Cameta 3 B&H, I have not yet had any problems and I have been buying eguipment from them for more then 30 years. Read the Return Policy.

Here is the list that appears to be most favored by Hoggers for online dealings:
Adorama
B & H
Cameta
KEH

There are others, but the two you mentioned are rarely recommended. And don’t overlook your local hands-on camera shop. I do some o/l purchases, but also deal often with my locals. I like that f-t-f contact.

I never used Adorama neither has my son. I know nothing about this company and will not rate this company. All my business is done thru B&H and l have found that they will match prices and stand behind their merchandise.

My favorites for New gear is Cameta after visiting them a couple years ago and establishing a go-to very knowledgable person. For used gear I use KEH. Never had issue with either company.

Sometimes Adorama has things B&H doesn't, and vice versa. Most people who have dealt with both will say that they're roughly equivalent in terms of reliability and customer service. I've dealt comfortably with both for decades, and never had a reason from either one not to go back.

Also try Hunts

I'll wholeheartedly second this!

I've been a customer of Hunt's for over two decades.

Use the "Search" feature at the top of the page, stay VERY far away from 42nd St. - Best bets are Adorama, B&H and Cameta.
