Yes, "rehess", you're quite right about Kodak notifying us about Kodachrome being Archival (100+ years) while Ektachrome held up better with slide projection. Only my early versions of
Ektachromes have any "fading" or off-color problems, but beginning with the "Lumiere" version
of Ektachrome and subsequent improvements, I had no such problems and my Agency clients
preferred either Ektachrome or Velvia (I refused to shoot exaggerated Velvia). In the 1990's
Kodak came out with E-100G (& E-100GX, a warm version) which were truly excellent. Most of
my professional work was done on Kodachrome-II (best of all!!) then later on Kodachrome-64.

I have Kodachrome slides my father shot in the mid and late 1940s. Color still good. >Alan

Very good example, "aellman", as my first color slide film shots on original Kodachrome from 1957 are still as fine color as they were 60-years ago (not quite as far back your father's).

Actually, my uncle used Anscochrome slide film back in the late 1940s through the mid-1950s. I have a few of his slides that are in near-perfect condition. That was a far better film than Ektachrome before the Lumiere editions.

Film cameras: R.I.P. Every day I am looking on UHH for information about film cameras. I not finding any information on film cameras. Oh yes , people will reply saying their have film cameras and then go back writing about their digital cameras. I hope I not the only one who like using film camera and could give a dam about digital cameras. I find nuts is reading about someone who pay $2,000 for XYZ digital camera and pay $1,000 for a lens to fit on the camera. Knowing that the camera is none more than a electricity item that will be obsolete by year's end. Yes, there is film cameras that will cost $3,000 with lens. But you known that you can get your $3,000 back. Can one said the same for digital camera? How about set a part of UHH just for film cameras.

To WJ Cody: Hadn't noticed before that you're in Springfield, Illinois, just about 60-miles South
of my hometown(s) of Bloomington/Normal, Illinois, where I grew up and still live except for the
winter months of January/February when I escape to Florida (being retired now).
