Film cameras: R.I.P. Every day I am looking on UHH for information about film cameras. I not finding any information on film cameras. Oh yes , people will reply saying their have film cameras and then go back writing about their digital cameras. I hope I not the only one who like using film camera and could give a dam about digital cameras. I find nuts is reading about someone who pay $2,000 for XYZ digital camera and pay $1,000 for a lens to fit on the camera. Knowing that the camera is none more than a electricity item that will be obsolete by year's end. Yes, there is film cameras that will cost $3,000 with lens. But you known that you can get your $3,000 back. Can one said the same for digital camera? How about set a part of UHH just for film cameras.

Quinn, I love both of my cameras. Film an old Leica 3 F with Ilford Film and my Nikon DSLR. Each has a place in my life.

I don't know about getting your $3000 back. I paid $1950 for my F5 in 2002 and it's still in like new condition yet I may get $300 for it. So what kind of film camera you want to talk about? I like film camera though. I have 1 digital camera and 42 film cameras.

There are many UHH members who own, use and write about film cameras regularly. Try searching Google for “Ugly Hedgehog 35mm camera” or “Ugly Hedgehog film camera”. As has been asked above, what sort of ‘film camera’ are you looking for info/discussion concerning?

A digital camera is not obsolete by years end! I've been shooting mine happily for 10 years ( and will probably do the same for the next 20 years)! I do shoot happily too with my film cameras, but moneywise, they "aint" much worth anymore, while the digital keep their value better over time!

Your aggressiveness toward digital camera is funny, especially considering that you have been at it for months...

Same as going after the attic being a section for... "degenerate people" and months later being an active member there...

I once started a thread on the anger you display. Let's just say 'you are not alone'. Watch over your shoulder, someone from the attic maybe after you...

As to creating a section for analog photography? Ask the admin.

You're upset about the wrong things. The only things I feel bad about is that people stopped using film ( I feel bad but I don't blame nobody as it makes sense for them to do so) and thus it's not profitable to sell film and thus film manufacturers stopped making film and chemical. Otherwise I wouldn't care about what others do.

I love film but now shoot mostly with digital for a variety of practical reasons. This is a site with a very large membership and compared with the number of digital cameras available, film cameras are a niche item. Its no wonder you don't see much on the topic here. Owning both digital and film cameras and understanding the pros and cons of each, I do take exception to your extremely inaccurate statement ". I find nuts is reading about someone who pay $2,000 for XYZ digital camera and pay $1,000 for a lens to fit on the camera. Knowing that the camera is none more than a electricity item that will be obsolete by year's end." You make them sound like toys rather then professional tools. Since you are unfamiliar with using them, I understand both your frustration with the lack of film topics and your lack of appreciation of the great benefits of digital photography.

Let me guess......you dont know a thing about PP. You feel threatened by it and decide to rationalize your shortcomings proclaiming your love for film. That it? And no...digital cameras are not obsolete like you absurdly claim. People can become obsolete though......like you maybe?

If an digital camera is not a electricity item, what is it? I understand how to work with an digital camera, My sister has four of them in this house. Yes, digital cameras are great if one needs a picture now. Also great for someone who does not want think when taking pictures, let the camera do everything. Just point.
Also one does not have to deal with film. Which can be a pain in the ass putting film in a camera, try a Leica and you understand what I am talking about. To me that no problem. There is something about working with a film camera I don't find working with digital camera. Can't explain it.

Just point? Im sorry the way you talk is doubtful you even know how to properly expose for a decent image. Your posts are becoming more absurd by the minute.
