I love it - with 1 or 2 posts, by people that obviously have a problem, it is turned into Lightroom and Adobe are terrible....and in most cases, the problems turn out to be operator error. Many times just simply not getting their heads around how to use Lightroom's catalog, which frankly is pretty simple.

Well, I have been using Lightroom with the Adobe CC subscription since March of 2014, so far, the monthly cost has remained exactly the same, $9.99, and for that sum I get Lightroom, Bridge & Photoshop. That sort of calculates out to a cost for 4 years of a total of $479.52 - not even the cost of a copy of Photoshop. The best part, the software is constantly updated with all the new features and I know that I have the top of the line products always up to date and maintained.

Will it go up? Possibly, maybe probably, if it becomes too costly there are options out there of course. Its all a cost/benefit analysis everyone will need to do for themselves.

BTW - You never OWN software (unless you are the author of the software of course)... you either subscribe or you purchase a perpetual license to USE it, but no, you never buy it and own it - read your license agreement next time to buy software.

I have LightRoom 6 and my machine crashed, so I went to reinstall it. No big deal it is a licensed registered version. I downloaded the same version from Adobe's website, I entered the key that was stored on their website and it said it was invalid. After wasting an hour on chat with them as it turns out when you purchase LightRoom, although it does not expire you can't reinstall it after a year. Naturally it is because they want to sell you their Cloud Version. As far as I am concerned this is the lowest of low. If they don't want to support it, it is one thing. But to not let you use it is just plain wrong. I don't know what to go with but it will not be an Adobe product.
