I have driven in cars and trucks with them in more then 10 years and I never liked them ( I actually really dislike them)!

I used to be tough in cold weather but as I get older I like a little more heat.
My wife's car has them. Love them.

I didn't think we'd use them in Arizona, but they came in handy up in Flagstaff in late fall and around Pinetop (7,000 foot altitude).
Hi there, I have had heated seats in cars with leather seats and cars with fabric seats. My wife’s Subaru Forester has cloth seats that are heated. They are wonderful, tonight the low will be around minus 30. My Camry has heated leather seats because Toyota only offered heated seats with leather. I then found out that local car stereo shops sell and install aftermarket heated seats for $300 a seat. That would be around $200 US these days. Knowing this my next car will have cloth seats with heaters added as an aftermarket item. LOL, might just have the driver’s seat done. 🤣🤣
Yep, my 1999 Eddie Baur has them, great for back pain lol, never tried it just to keep my A## warm.
Would I pay extra for it ? NO

The Temps here in NH will be a chilly 5° today, and those heated seats will be a welcome relief from the cold, especially when the wind chill will bring that temperature down to a real feel of -20° today.
I consider that money well spent!
As a kid, my parents bought vehicles with vinyl seats, that they covered with wool army blankets during the winter. Yes, they had both front and rear bench seats back then. Heated seats are a huge improvement over those scratchy blankets.
Put hand warmers in your back pockets, keep your butt warm.
First car with heated seats was in 1986 with a Saab. I think they originated them years before. Have had them ever since. Takes the chill off quickly. I will note however that they are better (warmer, heat up quicker and better coverage - includes backs) on some vehicles than others
We have them in our car but don't use them. The only time I have used heated seats was when I rented a car that was so uncomfortable that my butt started hurting, came in handy then lol
My wife loves it, I say it's unnecessary, however both cars have them, you figure, Bob.

It keeps peace in the family by having heated seats in both vehicles. That way you don't have to fight about which car to drive when it's cold out.
Heated seats are a pretty common selling feature up here ... I have not run across anyone yet who has aftermarket add-ons. I use them only for a few minutes when first getting in car when we are in the minus 20s or worse ... wife uses them fall/winter/spring unless the temp is well above freezing.
Last time I rented a vehicle (Jeep Grand Cherokee if I recall correctly) it not only had the heated seats but also a heated steering wheel ... it was pushing minus 30 at the time and I had to be out at a project site taking some photos (no gloves) and it was nice to use the steering wheel to warm up fingers

I used the heated seats in our last two Volvo's whenever I had a twinge in my back. Didn't use them that often to be honest as we had the fabric seat option (which I prefer to leather) but a few years further down the line without them, and I'm sure missing them now!
I have heated seats on both cars as well as on my motorcycle. My exployer has a heated steering wheel and the cycle has heated hand grips. Frankly, I forget to turn them on at times but my wife likes them and it is like buying a new camera and saying, I have a great camera body think I will skimp on glass, would rather have the money. It is all about comfort and ease of use! My dad told me many years ago that if you always go first class
or the best you can afford, you will always enjoy the best life has to offer.
