Have had heated seats in several of our vehicles and my wife would not let us order without this option. Yes you can dress warm but it always takes a few minutes for vehicle interior to warm up and ladies do not usually dress as warm as we males. Besides us male animals are tough....lol
I gave my son my 2004 Subaru Outback & they moved to Bozeman Montana this past Summer. Now that it's Winter, they really appreciate the heated LEATHER seats.
My current vehicle is the first one that I've had with a heated driver's seat, and I love it, especially with the latest cold snap. It's a mere few minutes before the seat starts to send out some heat. So if I use the remote starter as I leave my building, by the time I put my stuff in the back seat, and sit in the driver's seat it's already starting to radiate some heat. Put the vehicle into drive, travel about 100 yards and my seat is nice and warm.
I had them in one car a few years back. Never used them.

We enjoy the heated seats in Ct. Air conditioned seats are a nice feature as well.

Have them in my Acura MDX. Here in SoCal I use the cooling function more, but on those cold mornings I use the remote start and seat heater to make it nice and toasty when I get in.

I have heated seats and love them, but I’ve never see them as an aftermarket add-on (although they may be available). If your particular car model had heated seats as an option, I’d be checking car recycling yards for a wrecked one that you could buy the seats (assuming your wiring harness already has the connectors for them and there’s a pop-out spot in the dash for the switch). Most modern yards have a coast-to-coast locating service and can get them from anywhere that has a matching color pair. Lots of trouble, but REALLY nice. Btw, my wife’s car has the option of heat in the winter or A/C in the summer through the perforated seats. Sounds kind of over the top, but pretty nice when a car with black seats has been sitting in the sun in the south in summer.

I drive a 2005 Ford Explorer and the button is on the side of the seat near the levers to adjust the seat.
Heated seats are pretty well a 'must have' with leather seats. I had them in my last car. I liked them, but I gave up that option when I changed my car last week. Saved $50 a month by forgoing the leather / heated seats. I prefer to put the money in my GAS tank.

Yep, over a few years, that could pay for a new body 😎.

I was thinking of a camera body, but I definitely take your point (it’ll take more than Tums to fix my old body) 😩

I think I heard that they were only available on leather seats.
My new car has them and they are convenient. However if it's not that cold out they can get pretty hot.
