Is it a 1946 Ford Anglia, EO4A, 2Dr Australian. Notice the roll bar, tubbed rear end and parachute packet on the back. Looks like a Funny Car dragster without wheelley bars off the back. Just a guess!

Couldn't verify the year, but definitely an Anglia. The same car with four doors was the Prefect. Owned two of them way back when . . .

I'm assuming this was taken in the UK. I might guess it's a vintage Austin. They look like miniature Fords from the late '30's in the USA. I've never come across a hot rodded big block in the, UK because fuel was so expensive... but anything's possible.

Anglia Streetrod made to look like a Gasser, but much too civilized for an actual drag car!

Grayghost2 got most of the drag car clues. I’m surprised no one mentioned the large exhaust exiting just before the rear wheel, and the driver’s hand resting on the steering wheel (which is occupying the front seat space while the driver is sitting in the rear seat area. Both indicate the engine is probably located much further rearward. All to get more weight onto the rear wheels for more off-the-line traction in drag races.

Ha ha Sid - I did not see where the size of engine was stated. From the picture the driving position is way back - so it may just have a souped V8 pilot engine, or a straight six or even a V12? but I doubt it has an original 1 litre Anglia engine or a Ford Pop 825cc?
Hope you had a great Christmas - Del.

As a kid, I used to assemble model cars. That is how I learned about cars and engines. The Anglia link to the hot rod/drag cars was amazing. Thanks.

Hi, I'm trying to remember my old drag racing daying in the mid 1960s. I want to say that this iis an Anglia. Not positive though. The old grey matter has been leaking out of my ears while I sleep.

Looks like an Old Anglia, Used to see a few on the drag strip growing up. The last one I have seen was a '49 and it had the top chopped.
