Good luck to you. As far as getting Christian pictures in public, get them now, because the climate in this country is steadily becoming very anti Christian. Am I a Christian? Well, certainly not a fundamentalist, but I certainly want to see Christianity flourish in this country. It is the best thing for the country, and the best thing to keep us safe. But many people will not agree with that. Anyway, good luck getting the pictures.

When more people die in the name of god than any other way, why would anyone want any religion to flourish?

I am a serious Christian who loves to take pictures. I want to take pictures with a Christian theme such as The Love of God, God's Power, Christ in the world. I don't want to take pictures of plants, flowers, animals, landscapes, crosses or churches. Some examples I have considered: Christian signs and sayings on road sides or sides of buildings, club colors on the backs of Christian motorcycle riders. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Blessings and Merry Christmas Bob

We were riding around a couple of years ago and came across this church. This was our Christmas card that year. I wish you luck with what you are looking for. Merry Christmas.

Dreff, read Chief Seattle's speech. You are in Washington. Then follow that up with "The Hero Of A Thousand Faces" & "The Power Of Myth" both by Joseph Campbell.

How about taking pictures of homeless people? That would not only show the hypocrisy of most Christians, but it may actually make some of them ACT like a Christian.

Only Christians?? How does that make sense? If you feel that homeless people are not being helped then it would include all beliefs. Why single out Christians? It would also include you. Perhaps your own indifference to the homeless. How have you acted?? Maybe you are also a hypocrite.

Because the OP is Christian.

If he is concerned about the homeless isn't that something that transcends a belief?? Yet he implied Christians do nothing.

Excellent suggestion:

Unfortunately most of the people there at this event (below) have no idea about the background to the ritual that they are participating in. It's what they do, they say "Hristos se rodi" with the response "Vaistinu se rodi" but know little about the background traditions, the significance of 'The Yule Log' and related things, it's just what they grew up with and do. They can't actually talk about it, or why it is important other than local tradition.

Years ago, on Christmas Eve morning (badnji dan) in Serbia, fathers would take their eldest son to the forest to chop down an oak tree branch, which would become their badnjak or Yule Log.

However, today the traditions have evolved.

Perhaps the OP needs to start thinking about celebrating his beliefs by being a photographer. If he can be a good photographer first and foremost, perhaps he can use that to celebrate his other beliefs...

Perhaps he needs to work out what beliefs matter to him, and why, and then how to express them.

Blackest: I like your style, you are getting close to the heart of the matter. On a world wide basis Christians are more known for their barbaric colonization than for ever following the beatitudes of Jesus. I give you the American Indians and Hiroshima as two prime examples. My eyes were opened to the matter by "A Hero of A Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell. Follow that up with "The Power Of Myth" and it will clear up any of these issues.

How do you think the muslims conquered a large part of their world?? Was Stalin and Mao Christian?? How many millions did they kill? Just for $hits and giggles, I'll throw in Hitler. Your eyes dear boy are still shut.

He only included Christians because we (speaking for all Christians) profess to have a heart for, and want help those people. Too often we just sit back and do nothing but complain about why somebody else isn't helping. Or, even worse, throw money at the problem and don't truly care for their plight. I know, I am guilty at times (more than I like to admit).

Lots get a warm fuzzy feeling working at a soup kitchen during the holidays 'cause they are serving the poor. Many of those same people think nothing of passing a homeless person on the street in the summer time without stopping to offer help or even offer a kind word. Yes, I am as guilty as the people I am calling out ...

Just knowing right from wrong is never enough, it's doing something about it. I don't expect anyone to assist my choices. Gods free to do as he pleases with whoever really i'm just not in his fan club. God gives people cancer daily , blinds children with parasites, that god seems to be a real psychopath. You can argue god gives you free will but nobody chooses cancer. God seems pretty unreliable to be fair.

I read somewhere when Icelanders were asked what they believe in 98% said "themselves" and i'm with them. I don't need a nudge from God to figure out what to do. I don't always make the best choices, who does. If you look at the christian bible you see Jesus repeatedly gave examples of good choices to make, don't think he ever said let me get back to you on that one.

So really balls in your court, believer or not, you don't need a sign to do the right thing and neither do I. Have a good Christmas.

It's not a matter of doing the right thing. Why did death and disease and pain come into the world? Why is the earth still not a paradise? Why did death come upon man when sin entered the world? Why would man ever have need of God if man had no need?

God not only will put His people in specific places for specific reasons for his supernatural purposes but as they live their lives walking in the Spirit, God is able to effect change in peoples lives. He also uses people to save lives as well as provide for the poor and the needy....which is one reason we have Baptist, Presbyterian and Methodist Hospitals, and the Baptist Children's Home. In fact, in Ephesians 2:10, God promises that He will use those who are saved because the works that He would accomplish through them were planned before time began.

Comparison of Christians to non-Christians is useless - we go by a different standard and it doesn't originate from this world. Being the least 'bad' or the most 'bad' is still not correct and the comparisons meaningless. For a Christian, the standard is perfection as Jesus was perfect. And every one of us fail every single day. It is why we look to a savior to pay a dept we can't and why we can't say somebody else is faulty without identifying ourselves as being just as faulty.

That is also why we have no standing to say we are better than anyone else or brag about what good we do. Like a goodness race that Jesus already won, if we don't win, coming in 2nd or 423rd does not matter - we are still losers.

I can’t believe that you buy this bs.

What about the 38 year old mom battling cancer for the second time with 2 young children and a loving husband? Tons of people praying for her recovery, only to die and leaving those kids behind. Where was god in all this?
