I have three digital photo frames around the house. One is especially popular because it can be seen from the kitchen nook where everybody takes coffee and snacks. They are on timers that come on around 4 PM and go off at ten. I have also given a few to friends for display in their office where they are a popular. I change out the SD cards every few months. I also have cards in our TV's for those times when we need silent diversions. Several on line sites have challenges and contests that I frequently enter. I also post a few to various Facebook groups that share photos of specific topics.

I hope this is t too personal, but may I ask what the library prints sold for? I'm trying to sell mine here and there but pricing is something I struggle with.

Figure out the actual costs that went into the printing, matting, and framing, add in a little for labor and mileage. If that's not too high, then add 10%, and round up to the next whole dollar amount. That's a rock bottom price for prints.

But if you live or sell in a state that charges sales tax, consider where the next break is in the sales tax. This is why we often see prices ending in .99, instead of .00. They can charge a smaller amount of sales tax by reducing the price by a penny. Remember you must collect , report and pay the taxes to your local and state tax collectors.

With my jewelry, it's cost × 3.5 + 10% to get to my retail price.

I have about 25 framed prints on my walls, from 11x14 to 26x30.

Just curious what everyone does with all there photos. I know I have thousands, I have sold some which I wish I could sell more, but how? Anyway do you just collect them, sell them, enlarge, display, etc. I take photos of mostly wildlife and landscape, you have to find just the right people the buy photos like these.
Would enjoy your feedback.

I just collect mine, but there are Web sites where you can display your work to the public and sell it.
A couple are www.500px.com and fineartamerica.com. I'm sure there are more. >Alan

Put some on smugmug, print and give some to friends. My basement walls have over 500 photos of my granddaughter. There is still room for another 500 and I am sure some day, I will run out of space. Enter some into contests and yes I do win occasionally.

For me. I keep good pictures of family and friends. Also good vacation and pictures of the changing seasons. The rest go into round file.

I have sold mine to Shutter stock, Corel stock and some to Adobe. Prices are not much, but my photos are out there and people who want high quality similar shots can contact me.
Other hoggers do hospitals and museums and especially art and craft shows. I sell a lot of 5x7 and 6x8 to framed local shots to motor home owner
I used to shoot weddings..$1200 for about 6-7 hrs work was ok by me.

I put all negs in archival sleeves in photo binders as originals, I print what I like from that, and then the prints either hang on the fridge, get sent to friends as prints or post cards or they hang in my office at work until they are replaced by another print.

The personal ones that have sentimental value go in the shoebox for memories or a photo album for the same reason.

I don’t sell any of mine so I can’t help in that area. When I realized I had several thousand photos on my computer I started posting on facebook. I’ve had a number of people friend me there just so they can get my photo pick of the day that I post. I also post to Viewbug.com and enter some of the contests and challenges there. I annually enter into the Iowa State Fair Photography Salon and have received a couple of honorable mentions in that, but the most satisfying thing I have done is when I had a friend request a specific mission: she wanted a portrait of a cow. It took me a year to actually capture a portrait of a cow that met my standards. When I presented it to her after printing it at 16X20, she cried tears of joy. She had it framed and hung in a prominent spot in her home. That photo is one of the pictures that received an honorable mention at the state fair. One of my other photos that has been featured on the Viewbug.com site about 6 or 7 times now, I had printed and framed and gave to each of my children and my wife as gifts.

Save most of them; peruse them for the memories; post them on Facebook and my website gallery; print and hang some around the house; have some in a digital frame in the family room.

Unfortunately just “save them”.

I keep all 15,000 or so on Picasa and have for years. I add more as time goes by. A few years ago I digitized all the old prints I had lying around and put them on Picasa as well. Many of these go back decades. Finally I bought a small ASUS mini PC and another computer monitor and set them up in our kitchen where all the photos are now shuffling 24/7 on the google screensaver slideshow program. Works like a charm, and we actually get to see them!

I do two things,
I am always deleting the older shots, then doing them over, they're always better the second & third time,
AND,
What good is a picture if you can't show it ?
Of the best ones, I've set up a small gallery in my work place (I don't put old magazines on a coffee table for customers to look at) and also added a monitor for a slideshow.
Was surprised that people actually buy some of them. That money goes into my "new camera fund".
Don't plan on getting rich.
