Hey Hogs,
Just curious what everyone does with all there photos. I know I have thousands, I have sold some which I wish I could sell more, but how? Anyway do you just collect them, sell them, enlarge, display, etc. I take photos of mostly wildlife and landscape, you have to find just the right people the buy photos like these.
Would enjoy your feedback.

I display them in my driveway, but I have to let the local police know so they can direct the thousand and thousands who line up to see them. LOL.

Personal/family ones are shared with friends via the 'net and a very few printed and put up on our walls.
Photographs for other people are shared via Facebook or put up on my website.

I print and frame quite a lot and give then away. At 87 I don't need the money. And I don't want to deal with the IRS. Been there and done that. Ive photographed all the church's in the aera. They all have framed, matted photos hanging in their office's. If anyone wants copies than I charge. I belong to two historical society's and photograph all the old barns and buildings for their archives. We are loosing old barns at a fast pace. So I try to record them before there gone. Being a friend to the area leads to some paying jobs. All my photos are downloaded every day and put in folders according to subject in the computer. Note always have a backup system in case your computer goes belly up. You may get more suggestions from other HOGGERS.

Maybe I didn't ans how you can sell your photos. You can place them on display in banks, shops, lobbys and rent a space when they have a day at your park.

Only about 5% of mine are keepers. I delete the rest. The keepers I post on UHH and/or on facebook and/or on flickr, or I email them to friends and relatives. One way to ruin a hobby is to make a business out of it.

I do PR on events involving organizations I belong to. I generally send the photos to the organization and they can use them in their newsletters or keep them for historical purposes. I don't print anything. All my stuff is on my hard drive and backup drives. If it's interesting enough (not necessarily artistically good) it goes online.

I don't sell photos. I just enjoy the process.

My shoots generally include a lot of duplicates (bursts, brackets, different points of view). The keeper rate runs around 10%. The real duds get deleted from the disk, the rest of the leftovers get deleted from the LR catalog but not the disk. My LR catalog got up to around 60,000, but one winter I spent two months going back to the dark early days, adding and subtracting stuff from LR and keywording. Got the catalog down to about 17,000. It's now back to 20,000, but a lot less junk (your evaluation may be different) since I got more organized.

Keywording is the most time-consuming part of my workflow, particularly since I try to include names of everyone in the photos. Sometimes it takes some research to find the names, but it makes it possible to produce collections of individuals (or locations).

It depends on the topic of the photos. I shoot at our ham radio club meetings and events such as field day and put these on Dropbox temporarily and provide a link to members of the club so they can download and do what they want with the photos they may like. I do the same at my curling club, taking close to 1000 photos at each bonspiel and winnowing them down to maybe 500 to 700 keepers. Most of my bird and wildlife shots as well as my scenery shots are shared with my family and friends. I do have some printed and framed and try to display them in public places, such as a recent display of 29 pictures at our local library where I wound up selling four of them after the show ended. Selling is incidental. The four that sold were a shot of a round stone barn sized at 20X16, an 8X10 of a pair of cardinals, an 8X10 of a screech owl and an 11X14 on canvas of early morning sun reflecting on the ocean and beach. So you can see that people have differing tastes. I rotate my framed photos in my rec room and my living room.

At least you don't have to go anywhere!!
I drive to my nearest 4 lane freeway at rush hour and put mine up for sale on the shoulder. The usual traffic jam as drivers get out of their cars and snatch up my pics at top dollar! I like it when the police show up over the commotion, because they usually buy up what's left!!!

I leave them on their memory cards. I transfer the best ones to my external drive flash drives.

I just shot 3 boys(10,8 and 5yrs old) on snow-mobiles that we sold to their grandparents and have a beautiful planter with photo inserts that we will be giving to them for Christmas! All of my photos need to be "weeded out"! Time is all I need but what I've done over 52 yrs(I'm 70)I love sharing and giving away...don't need the money..did some photos for a St Bernard magazine...not for money....years ago had some "viewings" and sold some....but not now.

If I could sell all my photos for $1.00 each, I'd be rich. As it is, I enjoy taking and sharing. Then they sit on my computer. I also like looking at the old ones occasionally. They're always there - as good as new. No fading or tearing.

I'm a writer and artist (in addition to another career, from which I'm now officially retired although still working at, sort of), and take thousands of photos for a variety of reasons, including personal pleasure, but also as writing research and for use in my art. For example, much of my writing is similar to a photo session in a landscape where I'll use every lens in the bag, or every possible setting on my camera, to take photos at ranges from several miles to a few centimeters. I also use some of my own images as cover design, in promotional activities on social media, in speaking engagements, etc. I've used photos as the basis for drawings that have been published. Finally, I take them just for the memories, especially during the year out in our back yard, which is actually my wife's living sculpture. And yes, like one of the other folks who responded, I fill up external hard drives so our kids can mess with them when I'm gone! Finally finally, as a result of a posting on social media by a friend, I'm now going back through all my 2017 photos and picking out ten that I really like, to post. I have Canon point-and-shoots (SX700, SX710, SX50) which I've used on trips where weight and luggage were severely restricted, and Nikon DSLRs (D3300 and D610) for use when weight and volume of stuff are not a problem.
