GalaxyCat Your husband drives a very tough bargain. I thought he would have been happy to give you the lens!
Good luck with your new kit.
I guess that was misleading. The gentleman who offered me the Canon 77D asked for $350.
My husband didn't ask for any money for his old lens. He's okay with me using the old, old Canon zoom lens.
I just hope it works okay.

I am very, very happy to tell all of you that I bought a Canon 77D BODY (and battery and charger) from a very, very nice person on this UHH site, for a very, very reasonable price, and he is shipping it to me tomorrow (Monday, December 17th, 2017), and I will be able to use my husband's perfectly good Canon 100-300 mm 1:5.6 lens... (that was on a Canon EOS 620 film camera that he bought in 1987). He only asked for $350, and I did not ask for the lower price, he just offered in a PM. I'm on cloud nine!
I would never have been able to save up the $749 required for this camera body on Amazon. Never in a million years.
I am extremely happy. Now I might be able to capture some birds in flight, or on the water, with the zoom lens my DH already had.
I am not poor, but I do suffer from a high mortgage and a $623/month condo fee. It's expensive to live in Boston, and I'm staying here.
I think a lot of nice people on this site will be glad to know this.

Wonderful! Enjoy it and have a great holiday! Let's see some pics!
Thanks, GC. Glad it worked out for you. Have fun with your new purchase.
Good for you. Enjoy the camera, learning and the "ride"!
I also have a large mortgage and maintenance fee. But, I also have most my family within a 10 minute ride and others within 1 hour. Everything is a choice and one never gets it all, but that is not the determining factor of happiness. That dwells inside each of us.
Happy Holidays,
Mark

I'm sorry GalaxyCat, I really knew what you were saying. It was just me being silly.
Enjoy your new kit.
Looks like the forecast is for a very Happy New Year for you, Cat. Now let's see some images of the Beantown environs.
I'm very happy for your 77D, but sad for your (cough, choke) $623 monthly condo fee! I never heard of such high amount - assume you are taking about the association fee. Wow! I do feel lucky: we live in a single house in a gated community and pay US$36/month for security 24/7, 2 village maids 7 days a week, street lights, community pool upkeep and community gardening. For another $85/month we have a gent who comes every day a 6am to clean up outside, water vegatation and all gardening. PLUS, we've never had to shovel snow!! 😊
Anyway, enjoy the 77D and post lots of photos.
Congratulations. Use it in the Best of Health. We expect some fantastic images of Boston! How about a man rowing a scull in the Charles River? How about some images of Haaavaaad. Maybe some shots of MIT. What about the Commons? What about some Revolutionary War sites in the winter?

Good for you GalaxyCat, now post some photos and let us know how you like it.
Congrats on the new equipment. You always post nice photos; you have a good eye and the new camera will complement your skill. As for the cost of living in Boston: I love on Long Island and it is very difficult for people starting out . The cost of housing and property taxes are exhorbitant out here; I imagine that it is no different in Boston. It costs to live in these places, but just as you love Boston, and with good reason, I love Long Island and New York City. o take that new camera into Boston and to the Cape and show us what you can do.
