Very good, nicely composed. The focus is good, esp. for a 59-second exposure. Did you use manual focus and set it in live view before adding the ND filter? That's what I do, and it's a bit of a pain screwing it on and off. You could shorten the exposure by using a wider aperture, but you might not get the same misty effect.

Thanks for looking straight shooter. Yes, I use the same technique as you. Yes it is a pain screwing the filters on and off but I can't figure out a different way. I did need that pumped up f-stop to get that effect on the water. I tried several exposures before settling on this one.

Here you are, posting more beautiful photos. You are truly talented. I just started taking long exposures this weekend, of Halloween lights. Nice to see your work.

Bill

Taking these type of exposures is really a lot of fun. It keeps your mind sharp figuring out all the variuous steps. Maybe that is why I enjoy it so much.
Thanks so much for looking.

Sensational piece of work. I just started to play around with long exposures of this type. This is very nicely done.

Thanks OriginalCyn. Stick with those long exposures. They allow you to be creative and are a lot of fun. You will be rewarded.

Nikon D810, 24-70mm ISO 125, F22 at 59 seconds. I used a B+W ND filter (6 stops) to get this image.
Thanks for looking.

I really love this photo. It looks like a painting. Very nicely done.

I have a technical question. With the long exposure and high f/stop, on the D810, why not use ISO 64?

Very nice. I was wondering if you have ever tried getting the same results with multiple shots, no ND filter, but the numerous shots PP on top of one another to get the motion effect? I'm not suggesting you take the picture differently. I think your capture is excellent. I had recently seen a vid on the multishot method and wondered if anyone had used it or had thoughts about that technique.
