I bought a camera from them and it did not work. They would not take it back or exchange it. Buy from reputable dealers.

I have seen several posts concerning 42nd St Photo on this site, not all positive. They have a Canon SX60 HS advertised for $369.00 with free shipping. Is this a good deal? Could it be gray market and if so would Canon honor the warranty or repair it if necessary? Thanks for any advice.
YOU HAVE WON THE NIGERIAN LOTTERY. BUT TO RELEASE YOUR MONIES YOU MUST SEND A CASHIERS CHECK FOR 50000 TO.............
Wake up!!!!! You've already read the reviews. Geez.
I'd suggest staying away from 42nd St. Photo.
Canon is offering refurbished for $322.99. As good as new and with 1 yr. warranty.

I will have to say, I have bought from 42nd St Photo, and I have nothing bad, only good things to say about them. When I would ask if the item I was interested in was a gray market item, I was always answered honestly. I never experienced the "bait and switch" method I have heard others complain about. And, I have experienced no problems with the items I have purchased from them. So, based on my experience, would I purchase from them again, yes I would. I am wondering....all of the negative comments made by hoggers on this post....are you speaking from personal experience, or are you speaking from "hearsay experience?"
I will have to say, I have bought from 42nd St Pho... (

Hmmm, you sure you did not buy from 47th street photo ?
I have purchased several lenses from 42nd St. Photo and have not been disappointed. Quick service, good customer support, and good lenses, Canon and Sigma. Just note that after you place your order, you will get a call to confirm AND will try to sell you an extended warranty, and accessories. It’s low pressure. Just say no, if you don’t want the extras. Overall, I’m very satisfied.
Be extremely careful with those crooks. There are very reliable dealers where perhaps you will pay a little more but buying from them offers the protection you will never get from 42nd Street Photo.
Yes, many of what they sell is gray market.
I am speaking from personal experience.
Stick with Adorama and B&H. You'll never have a problem.
I got a gift certificate for 42nd Photo from someone who had no idea about their reputation. I used it to buy a Canon lens with no problem.

Except getting attached to an object via an inclined plane helically wrapped around an axis.

No personal experience with 42nd St Photo, but all I've heard is bad. In so many cases B&H, Adorama, KEH, Amazon, a eBay all have the same price for new items. What does that tell you?
Thanks for all the advice. I will keep looking.

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. I bought my wife a D7000 from KEH for $320. It has a 6 month warranty and came with battery charger. It only had 31000 shots on a camera that is rated for 150,000 shots. My D7100 had 52000 shots and is considerably newer.
You've seen the post about 42nd Street so be forewarned.

Run Away!!! The statements I’ve posted here are factual. How someone had a goof experience with them I have no idea but measure the number of good to bad and you’ll figure it out.
