Suggest a D610 with a 20mm, a nice light package.

Light like a brick! I have that combo! You men just don't get it! Perhaps you are put off by the fact some women carry around huge bags seemingly containing all their life's most precious possessions, but an extra heavy, bulky camera - especially one hanging around our necks, is unwelcome!

I thought we did get it. Now that women are eligible to do everything a man can do in the military (and almost all other occupations except football) seems like carrying around a three or four lb DSLR and lens should be a piece of cake.

An M4 weighs 6.5 pounds. An FF with the usual howitzer of a lens is more! Besides in fatigues we get combat boots, and vests with all kinds of hooks and stuff to hang the gear on.

I do have the original RX100. Probably time to upgrade. Do you know when the new models typically come out? thx

The Sony RX100v is the latest model. It has a 1" sensor, and a focal range of 24-70mm. Price at B&H is $948, with carry case and a 32gb SD card.

I have a Nikon D5300 and it is smaller than the full frame sensor cameras. I think it takes very good pictures and is good to travel with because of the weight. Also it will not break the bank, I know they have a newer model, D5600. Check it out.

I have a Nikon V1 with a FT-1 adapter for regular lenses. Light and you would be amazed the pictures you can take.

I have a Nikon J1 1 that I got as a gift. I purchased an adaptor and use my other lenses with it. I am going to purchase a J1 J5. Very light and you can use all your Nikon lenses. Juat thinking.

I have a d5300 that is great except it has a focus issue. Sent it for repair and it is somewhat better through the VF but I have to preview every image and it takes too much time. I think it is this particular camera.

Just moved up to d7200 and am so happy with the focus. It is about a half pound heavier and that does make a negative difference. Would have gone for the d7500 but have lost valuable photos in the past. Like the two SD Card slots int he 7200 Really enjoying the low light advantage and excellent focus.

I took real estate photos in the past and used a Nikon P & S. S8100. Worked just great and it will fit in the pocket. Better focus than my 5300. Also use a p520 and p900 (what a trip that is), Both out focus the 5300. Have a friend who has a 3400 and it is super. He uses it professionally with top glass.

Hope this helps. If I were to unretired, I would us a P & S for real estate photos. V

Interesting....I have the same quandry.
My D800 had to go in for service so I used my Google Pixel 2. Didn't tell the clients and the photo quality was comparable when uploaded to the Real Estate Web. They also looked really good in the houses brochure.
Gotta' tell you that this camera phone is IMHO, 90% as good as a D800 and 14-24 for web/real estate photo publishing. It's really scary good.
And check out Project Fi. Google will finance the phone at 0% for 24 months. Can't beat that deal and Project Fi service is as good at ATT! No downside to the Pixel 2.
OH, and you can even talk on it!

OK, Cat back at you....This is like comparing a mirrorless to a DSLR.....Really, an M4 + stuff?....How about a M79 with a vest of HE, flares, tear gas and shotgun rounds + 35 to 40 pound ruck of other stuff (water, food, etc.) and no rides in Humvees only tromping up hills and through rice paddies in I CORPS (A Shau Valley) with the 2/17 CAV, 101st Airborne. By the way, I have a Nikon D610 and a 20 mm D lens also. Anything you may or may not like about this note can be blamed on agent orange and (yes, I'm in the VA agent orange registry). Cheers and happy shooting (photos that is). Cheers, chase

I got a new strap for my D750, it connects to an arca tripod plate and one of the convention strap attach points. The camera sits close to my body and the big surprise is the camera seems almost weightless. I had a D90 and it was too heavy causing shoulder and neck pain if I carried it all day. I didn’t like any of the lighter cameras (Nikon 1 J5, point and shoots), so I went out and bought a heavier camera (can’t explain how I thought that would help), new strap saved me!

I use a full frame Nikon Df. It is thinner and lighter than other FX cameras and it is great in low light/ high ISO. Give it a look and see if it fits your needs.
Good luck in your search.

I agree, the Df is the lightest full frame in the Nikon line up! With a light lens it is a jewel!

What "light lens" do you use?
