Hi all I have a Nikon D800, I take real estate photos, I find my Nikon D800 very heavy and was wondering would be a good lightweight Nikon to carry as an alternative. Thanks in advance. Nan

The Nikon website has the specifications of all their current models, including the weight.
I don't think there is a good light weight alternative although the entire Nikon DSLR line up are lighter than the D800 except the D5.
If you desire a lightweight camera. You need to switch to mirrorless. I use a Panasonic GX8. The cameras and the lenses are much smaller.

I use a full frame Nikon Df. It is thinner and lighter than other FX cameras and it is great in low light/ high ISO. Give it a look and see if it fits your needs.
Good luck in your search.

Ditto. I have a GX8 and two lenses that allow (equivalents) from 28mm to 800mm. The total kit in a bag with a few accessories is under 6 pounds.

Nan, I have found, in use, that good balance can be as beneficial as lowering the weight. Which lens do you normally use? Does it make the camera/lens combo nose-heavy?
The D3400 is quite light. I bought one for my wife ecause her previous camera, a D7000, was too heavy for her. She loved the D3400
That's an easy one. I sold by D800 and will replace it with the D850. My second "lite" camera is a D5500 which is now the D5600. You could go with the the D3300/3400 depending on your budget. Very nice combination at a reasonable price. Of course, then I have my Sony RX100ii when I need to move down another notch in size and weight with a pocket camera. These three do the job.

Inexpensive alternative: Buy two 10-lb weights. Use them to strengthen your arms during TV commercials.
Go mirrorless! Olympus,Panasonic, Sony, Fugi all make great cameras tha would fill your needs with a good wide angle lens.

Your full frame camera choices are the D810 at 1.91 lbs. , D750 at 1.65 lbs., D610 at 1.67 lbs. The advantage of FF for real estate is that you can get wider than with cropped sensor. And your current FX lens will work on these. But you don't save weight.
OK, cropped sensor camera's are lighter, but it will multiply your FX lens on the wide end and you will not have the interior coverage you currently have, of course you could buy a DX lens for the new camera. The Nikon D7500 comes in at 1.41 lbs., D500 at a healthy 1.89lbs. , and the D5600 at a mere 1.023 lbs.
So the difference between the heavy weight here and the light weight is .87 lbs. OK about one pound. And, generally DX lenses are lighter that FX lenses.
My recommendation, the Nikon D7500 (cause it shoots almost in the dark) and the Nikon 16-80 or the 10-20 Nikon.
