Hello Mr. Nelson, I used to live in Marquette in the early 80s and your name seems familiar. I'm in Petoskey now. I wish I had someone like you to mentor me!!!. I love photography but stumble with the technicalities of it. I visited your website and some day hope to take stunning images such as yours.

Two weekends ago we had really strong winds and this is a fave of mine, not enhanced in any way, the grayness of the day is how it looked. This was just off of our downtown in Little Traverse Bay. I could not stand up in the wind and had to take all my pics from the car with the window open on the east side. Crazy!!

someone help! i don't know how to get this off of here, not in the right place. New here, sorry

Has anyone else noticed that once your photos are uploaded they look rather washed out? After I uploaded my first submissions I was rather disappointed they looked like they did. In Photoshop they sure looked a lot richer.

I bring this because katyface's looked washed out as well but I don't think its her fault after seeing the difference in mine.

Any Ideas or comments?

Yes, I have noticed the same with mine. I am clueless as to cause.

Michigan posts are bringing back memories - used to be a "Uper" before it was ever called that. Have relatives in Traverse andÂ… Thanks for posting. (Sorry if this doesn't exactly belong in this spot)

UHH compresses and re-sizes all photos posted, so that they all appear near the same. I've had no problems with any of mine looking washed out. Actually, in some cases they looked better. So, who knows?

There are so many beautiful pictures on this thread I think it will be very hard to choose a winner. I have no delusions of actually winning but in the spirit of growing as a photographer, here are my submissions.
I was driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway close to Charlottesville. I stopped to take a few shots of the fog laying in the vally and the sun peaking up over the mountains. Beautiful morning.

Lol,, first picture post. So Yes I have noticed that on Lgihtroom my photos are brilliant but on Picasa not so much and then here as well... but i have to say, it is washed out and it is my fault for the most part. Still learning on things other than close up faces.
