One of my favorite places in all the world.
These shrines were taken at the Santuario De Chimayo in New Mexico. It is said to be one of the oldest churches in the country. Many people come here from all over the world to get Holy Dirt and Holy Water. My family and I used to take a trip once a year to see this church. Over the years it has change immensely and they even turned it in to a museum (kind of destroyed the sacredness). People were know to go into the church in wheel chairs or on crutches and pray to be healed and they would WALK out of the church without them. They have a wall in the back of the church where people would leave their wheelchairs and crutches. You cannot take pictures of the inside of the church anymore but it is beautiful and everything is hand crafted.
Baby Shrine, people usually leave baby shoes or items so their children can be blessed

There is a place near Janice's that stages some great still lifes. Maybe she can tell us how the "Chicken Coop" and the "Mud Lick" rate.
LOL - never heard of chicken coop whiskey unless it is the whiskey my brother drank out in dad's chicken coup.
Mud Lick whiskey was/is made in Ohio. I don't know if they still make it or not.
If it is whiskey I will bet it is good - especially if it is made in Kentucky! Hammer did you get to smell that stuff while you were here - it sure puts off an alarmingly bad odor. Enough to make you think twice before you take a sip :-)
I drink there, uh, work there, I mean, I have been there, yea that's it I have been there.
A few more "still Life" for today's challenge.

Welcome to Day 193 :) Today it's all about Still Life. As much as I try I really suck at this topic LOL. I have no artistic eye for staging... so I decided to go a different route and post photos of things that are very still. Here are a few examples to get us started.. hope y'all have better luck than I did .. I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.
I like the sunset, looks like the eastern shore of Maryland

It's so comfortable to have options on the challenge. It opens the mind up to all kinds of possibilities! Your variety is excellent in allowing the tangents! Thank you.

Still life found while just walking around and watching my step so as to be sure not to trip over something and fall on my face. Well my face doesn't matter but I have to protect those new knees especially.
Is the grey/white stuff a type of lichen?
