I have a Nikon D 5600 and am undecided between two lenses , the Nikon 24-120 mm f/4 and the Tamron 18-400 mm. I mostly do travel and street photography. Landscape also is a big fascination. Any suggestions. Thank you.
I have and highly recommend the Tamron 18-400mm lens. I had the 16-300mm Tamron which I was also pleased with but I traded it in on the 18-400mm which is noticeably sharper.
I owned and used the 24-120 for almost a year, using it for landscapes, cityscapes, florals, and still-life subjects -- everything outdoors. While it wasn't soft at large apertures, I thought sharpness was just average at both large and small apertures. Contrast was good, and color rendition was satisfactory. The 24-120 is built like a tank, and it's heavy, but the mechanical performance was flawless. Autofocus was extremely fast.

My vote would be for the Tamron 18-400. This is a brand new lens, and is probably their best zoom lens to date. Very well made, and everyone so far really likes it.
It tends to be a little big and somewhat heavy, but is very well made, and offers a fantastic range to work with.
Two thoughts. For landscape and street get the Nikon. The Tamron is a fun lens but if you are not interested in birding or other wildlife it would be of limited value. Also it is a DX lens and should you ever go to Full Frame for your landscapes it would not serve you well.
For street the Nikon 24-120. For landscape you will probably want a wider angle, but will rarely if ever want the Tamron's long end. Get the Nikon and a second lens that begins at 18mm or so but doesn't go as long, weigh as much or take as much space as that particular Tamron.
