Great Pictures. I used to go to many airshows years ago as I love planes. I used to work in the aviation industry (DC-9 flight test) and took many pictures- slides.

Great shots, except #3 which was at too high a shutter speed. The propellant arc would look better as a blurred disk as opposed to appearing stationary. I pan the airplane and use 125th for a shutter speed.

Will try to find a suitable shutter speed next time. It's not possible to shoot at 1/125 sec from a bobbing boat.

Great shots! I thoroughly admire great aircraft in flight shots.

As a purely unnecessary aside, in 1987 I fell through a skylight on the roof of a seven story hotel building while making pictures of the Air Force Thunderbirds. Sheared the lens mount screws off of my 70-200 f/2.8 but once the lens mount was replaced both camera and lens functioned well. Someone who saw the incident said the camera appeared to bounce about a foot off the flagstone floor and the lens then separated from the FE-2 body.

Alas, I didn't fare as well and spent 14 weeks in intensive care and about a year more in physical therapy.

I purchased an EOS 630 (for the autofocus)and a couple of lenses and my therapist concocted a makeshift shoulder stock of heat moldable splint material and secured a remote shutter button to my good hand with a velcro strap, enabling me to shoot a bit during my recovery.

I hope you recovered completely. After one near miss and a couple of falls I vowed to be super careful when shooting and never take a step backward without looking.

Now, besides a tripod for my camera, I need a boat to sit it on to get good airshow images. Great job! The only criticism is the lack of prop blur on the bi-place image but really great anyway.

I enjoyed all of your photos. Love the air shows and the pilots who fly them. My favorite is #4. Mahalo for sharing.
