A week ago, today, we got back from a lovely trip to Yellowstone National Park. Autumn seems like a good time to go. Some of the places in the park are closed by late September, but the crowds are really quite easy to tolerate. We did run into some cold weather, and a fair amount of snow on the ground, but we were prepared for that and it really added to the beauty of the place.

Autumn is the time of the elk rut. Though we did not see any of these magnificent beasts fighting, we still had the opportunity to see several mature bull elk with impressive racks. We saw quite a few other animals, as well, but, alas, no moose, and no wolves.

Lovely set and numbers 3,4, and 5 are especially nice when double clicked, Anvil.

Great collections of those beautiful animal! I and my family came back last Saturday after just few days there. I were not as lucky as you were seeing so many kind of animals. We only made one short trail hiking, because my wife couldn't walk too far. We managed to see lots of Bison; Elk; a couple wolf, no bear! We did enjoy the amazing scenery at the Mammoth Hot Springs and the erupting geysers at the Old Faithful plus around the Yellowstone Lake area. Time was too short due to my family's personal schedule.

Thank you all, very much!

I took several hundred photos, and it is taking me a while to cull them. When I get farther into it, I'll post some of the better scenic shots.

Great Photos and good variety, thanks for sharing. We went in the winter on a snow coach and loved it....Elk, Wolves (pack feeding), Pine Martens, Fox, Coyotes, Eagles. Went back in the following May and saw the Grizzlies plus Moose, a few coyotes, Eagles, about it. Want to go back in the winter. Yellowstone is awesome, can't get enough.
