Finger Lakes area: winery & trees turning

Trees turning? What's that? What do they turn into?

AT night the trees turn into eating humans. With a question like that, be on the lookout, their coming for you.

Letchworth State Park and Watkins Glenn State Park in N.Y. are beautiful.

Now, that's funny.

Back to the thread; I should mention that the leaves will be turning colors at that time, so that will be something to photograph.

Just don't pick up any leaves.

I appreciate all the comments - even the ones about man-eating trees! Lots to think about.

My mistake. Obviously, my French is not as good as yours.

Sigh. No, they are not called the "fulls of Abraham," they are called "les plaines d'Abraham." In French, plaine is plain and pleine is full.

Aside from Niagra Falls, take a boat tour of the 1,000 islands. It is on the way to Montreal. There are old mansions on many of the islands. Most of the islands are in NY state. The Islands are between Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence river.

If you get to Niagara Falls come East about 75 miles and see Letchworth State Park. It is known as the Grand Canyon of the East. The Genesee river runs through it and it features three gorgeous waterfalls. There are entrances at Mt. Morris, Perry, Castile and Portageville.

Re. Quebec City, I did the city in 72. The walk under the Chateau give an aerial view of ships loading to voyage to the North. The Chateau itself is a great subject as is the Citadel. The old city behind the Chateau was fairly unspoiled and had some nice little restaurants.

The Chateau was contructed by the Canadian Pacific railroad. My wife and I walked to the station - maybe a mile north - which was designed by the same architect, and is well worth seeing on its own.
