You made me curious, Jerry. Mine is 30 GB. Cleaning up goes on the list of "things I should, but never do".

I have lots of things on lists, and most never get done. I still have to remove that dead dog from my front lawn and fix the flat tire on my car.
Mark, sounds like a great idea, I had no idea that it was possible to change the location of the "downloads" folder. All this time seems as though I just went along to get along! Is it too late to relocate the folder (already have windows 10 and many other programs installed). I also have an ssd with the OS and programs, an internal drive with all data, a internal drive with all my pictures and a internal drive with backups of data drive & picture drive plus several external drives
Enjoyed your post a few days ago on how you recovered from a crash using Acronis and the several backups you had made ... I have acronis 2018 but still not sure how to make a "disk image" from which I could recover the OS and all my programs, need to get moving on that project.

I don't use Documents, either. I have My Files on the D drive for all my word processing files. The same with My Pictures and My Music. There is no data on C.
Thanks for the comments, Tom!
Actually, doing that in Acronis is very easy. I'd be happy to send you the few step - by step instructions to accomplish it. PM me and let me know if I can help. Acronis also has "Chat support"
that is excellent.

I do the same thing for the same reason but also because I live out in the middle of nowhere and have satellite internet. For those of you that don't know how that works I have a data limit per month (30 gb during "prime time - 8AM to 2AM). That amounts to 1 gb / day and that can go by pretty quickly if you're on UHH looking at pictures!
My brother lives in South Bend and he told me his family uses around 20-30 gb a day! They stream everything - no cable tv. So, I do my best to avoid re-downloading software whenever I can.

I recommend copying or moving your Downloads folder to another location - external drive - flash drive - an internal drive other than your operating system drive (C for most people). Remember to direct downloads to that location. It may save, "your butt"!

Mark...you seem comfortable doing things with your computer, so I have a question. In file explorer, if I send a file to my email contact, it says it can't cause you don't have an email associated with this file. I've never done an association that I'm aware of. I hope it's easy. I use gmail if that helps. Many thanks.
Dan
Hi Dan,
To send a file via email, (I use Gmail) I compose an email, click on add attachment button/icon, then navigate to the file and double click it. I have never done an association in File Explorer either.
Not even sure one can. What kind of file are you attempting to email?

It was a picture. I can attach a file or picture the way you said, but I was trying to send the picture from where the picture was and that's when I got the association thing.
That can be done, providing you have configured one of the email clients available in Microsoft. I do not do that. I use Gmail and can only send via an attachment. I do not have a need to do it any other way. If I want to share many images with groups, I use one of my Shutterfly sites or Dropbox and send a link.

Good idea. I will get back to doing it that way since I have 2 Shutterfly websites set up for car shows. Thanks for your time. You've been very helpful and I appreciate it much.

Glad I was some help, Dan.
Sounds like you are all set now.
BTW:I lived in El Paso 59 - 60' In the Army - stationed at White Sands Missile Range.
Good luck.
