Will it fit in a shirt pocket?
See attached quick snap of RX100 in my shirt pocket. I find it more comfortable in the thigh pocket of cargo pants, but here you go.

Do any of you have a better than nothing, 24/7 pocket camera? If so, what?
My Canon G7mark2 has a 1" sensor and fits in my shirt pocket although I prefer to carry it in my pants pocket.
I have a ZS 70 which goes with me all the time. I have gotten some great pictures with it and really like it. My husband and I have gotten numerous Panasonic ZS cameras over the years and use them for quick snapshots. I recently had an 8x10 printed from the ZS 70 and it came out quite good. For my bird pictures I use a Nikon D7100 with a Tamron 200-500 lens on it. This is definitely not a point and shoot camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 the size of the palm of my hand and fits shirt pocket. Great jpeg only results for a tiny 14MP sensor with 25mm-250mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens and full HD video. I bought this as a demo closeout from Sears with full warranty for $78 (over $200 retail) about three years ago. Here is an example of the IQ at 250mm ISO 100. I'm so stoked and keeping it.

P.S. My D80 is just too heavy and bulky for 24/7.
Ah, they do in fact scramble eggs! I dropped one in the kitchen while my wife was making her breakfast, broke 3 eggs, which became my breakfast.
Canon G-15, it's my mini me. built like a mini DSLR. I see that some people added a photo with their pocket camera, so here is one of mine.
Fuji X-10. I own a couple of these, both purchased used for around $ 200 each. Fuji got it right with this one, as I usually remind the Fuji folks at the PhotoExpo every year. Privately, a few have agreed with me. It is a near perfect little camera. No need top have 'improved' the design over the years.
No real idea of how many thousands of shots I have made with this camera, but I have dozens on my professional web site and many more on my blog, Along the line, I have also sold prints and even shot several magazine pieces with this camera.
One X-10 is usually with me daily. Not quite 'pocketable' but close and easily carried in my shoulder bag along with the rest of my guy stuff. I have 'customized” it with a home made grip and thumb rest and covered it all with lots of black tape. Looks like a beat-up, unattractive, cheap camera. Thieves have yet to take an interest in it. When I travel I carry a second X-10 as a back-up. I have yet to need the second one, but comforting to know it is there.
I have the Canon A1400. Got it refurb from Canon for under $100. Easily fits in shirt pocket, uses common AA batteries, has view finder, and linited zoom. Is not interchangeable lens style.

View finder is important to me. I'll check it out.

Very nice image for $78. Here is one I just took with my wifeâÂÂs Sony a6000 on Hilton Head Island when we went out to eat at Skull Creek Boathouse a couple hours ago. No processing.

At one time all the Canon cameras having name "A" followed by several digits were powered by AA batteries, and they had viewfinder, and they had articulating LCD.

Nice. A little too large for a shirt pocket go everywhere camera, but I like some of the features, and may look at replacing my old D80 with this.
It is named PowerShot. I got my 1400 because my brother-in-law gave good marks to the a1200. These might be hard to find, tho
