Congratulations on 'catching' the aurora. Amazing isn't it! The only bad thing is, that once you have seen it, you want to see it again, and again...
Recommendation to anyone going to see it, especially if you live in warmer climates, remember to take 'Hot Hands' foot and or hand warmers, to keep your feet warm!
Wonderful shots. Thanks for posting them for those of us who have never and probably never will see them.
Fantastic pictures... northern lights are spectacular...
Beautiful! Still on my bucket list!
I was stationed in Iceland 1970-1972. I took many shots of the Arora with ASA 100 Kodacolor negative film. Just had to shoot with my Nikon 1.4 on an F2, held open for a few seconds! Surprisingly they did come out well, despite the fact that I had no way to check exposure until the film was developed and sent back to me.

Thanks again everyone for your kind comments. We were staying in Akureyri (northern Iceland). Two weeks ago the temp was about 45 degrees. I had a small tripod and was shooting from the hotel parking lot. As the hotel emptied out to see the lights, I had to dodge and weave around people to get a clear shot. Interesting, the lights are not static. They move and swerll about. So if you do a time exposure for a particular scene, you may end up with something else.
Luck an equipment helped. You obviously had a tripod with you or extremely steady hands! Good job.
