While recently touring Iceland, we were very fortunate to get a brief glimpse of the northern lights. They started close to midnight and lasted about 30 minutes. One bucket list item checked off.
Congratulations! Still on my list.
Nice photos. Photographing northern lights is on my bucket list. What settings did you use?
I was able to see them when I was stationed in northern Maine, early 70's. Looked very much like your photos!! Awesome!
Also on my list. Going to Iceland in November... Nice shots...
We were supposed to be able to see them here in SW Michigan so I went out at 2:30 a.m. with my cellphone. Only thing I got was a mosquito bite and a shot of my own shadow from the full moon in back of me as I went back in the house. I've seen photos from a park near Mackinac bridge in upper Michigan, an official dark park, that were spectacular, but unfortunately Michigan has as many cloudy days as the Pacific NW usually has, so it's catch as catch can, and I didn't last night.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. My first attempt with these lights and my settings were kind of guess work. I used a Nikon D500 w/16-80 lens. I basically went full apature f2.8, 16mm, 15-20 seconds.
Very good, I too would like to see them...

Nice. On my bucket list as well.
I would love one day to capture that.
Got that rabbit's foot in your pocket, I see. Did a good job when the chance presented itself. I got a few shots in Alaska in 2016.
