mwsilvers - I have shared your story with the teachers in my building. They plan to use your story in class today as they discuss the happenings of 9/11.

Thank you and Well said "rs" You said everything I could not put in my words and feelings. I believe all of these stories need to be shared with our youth.

FrumCA - these memorials are done in different parts of the county. All monies collected/donated from sold items stay local to help the families of those fallen heroes.

I'm honored that you think my little story is worth sharing. I won't bore you with more details, but the things I saw that day would fill a small book. However, I am only one of many tens of thousands of people who were there and witnessed these world changing events firsthand on that beautiful Tuesday morning in September. They all have stories to share. Unfortunately, as the years go by memories will begin to fade until one day this will be just another historical event learned by our children's children in school.

Also, share with them the truth. This was carried out by muslim terrorists. Not some unidentified group.

Not sure of your point. What credible sources have suggested it was an unidentified group? Of course they were Islamic terrorists. Of that there is no doubt.

Thank you for sharing. The firefighters in our area are at the Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo cliimbing the stairs up and down to commemorate the fallen firefighters of 9/11, one of the most most poignant types of memorial I can think of. Those firefighters represent everyone who perished, not just the firefighters. Funds raised by their stair climb go to the support fund that helps families of fallen first responders. Thank you to your son for representing everyone of us who is proud of those who protect and serve.

True 9-11 survival account by 12-year old boy in South Tower.
Many firemen, police died as heroes in the jihad attacks...

I was there on 9/11 and this story is so ridiculous that anyone who was there and knew the WTC, and the timing of events, could spot this as nothing more than an anti Muslim tirade in a heartbeat. Regardless of how you feel about Muslims this particular story is just not true. Isn't the truth of the event, two planes hijacked by Muslim Jihadists bent on destroying the United States, enough for you?

The story is a complete fabrication, and as politically motivated fiction posing as the truth, it insults the many thousands of us who were actually there and survived that day, not to mention the 2900 that perished, especially today of all days. Oh, by the way, I was particularly fascinated by this "12 year old boy's" visit and tour of the Coast Guard station on Governor's Island, especially since the Coast Guard officially vacated it 5 years earlier in 1996. There was only a small caretaker team on the Island prior to 2001 while the future of its use and ownership was being decided. In early 2001 it became a national monument. No Coast Guard and definitely no Coast Guard cutter. I know you want this story to be true, but sorry, its not.

This is the first time I have heard of this particular memorial to the firemen first responders. It is quite a salute to them and all of the first responders who lost their lives that day. I knew a lot of people in the first building hit, but they were all on lower floors and managed to escape unharmed before the towers came down. The brother-in-law of one of my friends did not make it far enough from the buildings before they came down and was killed by the falling towers.

They are all heroes in my book. Lots of people think they have a cushy job and make too much money. I wonder how many of the complainers would trade jobs?
