I take photographs because it is good for my soul, I'm outdoors, I look at things in new and fresh ways when I'm shooting, and when I capture that one amazing, timeless shot, I feel a sense of awe and wonder, much like magic. Other than that, it just makes me feel good!

With my camera in my hand, I am more vigilant to the beauty around me, whether it be walking in the grass fields or forests at our little farm, or visiting a bird sanctuary or a rocky beach in Northern Michigan. Though my efforts rarely surpass the actuality, the whole process makes me more grateful to be alive in some ( wait for it ) therapeutic way...

When I want company to leave, I have everyone sit down in
front of the TV and pull out my CDs with 5,000+ travel pix.

You're admitting that you take porn photos...as a participant on this site that one thing was much more information than I needed to know!!

My wife and I both have laptop computers on most of the time. Each has an extensive folder of photos we've taken over many years. The screensavers randomly display photos from the pictures folder and WOW! The memories that come back are great.
Photos taken for pay are in different folders and don't enter into the joy of photography.

I'm glad to hear your reply Haydon. Writing is much more difficult than learning how to take a picture with a camera. Mr. Lee should of realized that. It would of been better if he arranged his written words towards adult understanding not towards a child. That's way I wrote what I did; it is not an inaccurate assumption. CIAO, AP

What's wrong with asking a simple question with a pointed reference to "YOU" as an individual, perhaps you misunderstood and your interpretation was "why do people take photos." We could all list many reasons why photos are taken but only YOU know why you take your photos. A big difference.

I have my wife go quietly to the basement and trip the main circuit breaker.

Why do people ask "why do people take pictures?" :)

...then I suppose the friends have nothing better to do...or they want you to feel good...or they owe you perhaps! [P.S. Just joking in case someone things otherwise...]
