Terrific photo. You really caught the eyes. According to a local bird rescue sanctuary, cooper's hawks are the only raptor they will not try to rescue, because cooper's are so ornery that they absolutely do not tolerate being in captivity. I am told that we have many cooper's around here. They frequently take pigeons in my and my neighbors's yards. An impressive species.
