Old Bethpage Village Restoration.... Part 1 - School
Beautiful images and interesting info, Angela! It's wonderful that they're restoring instead of demolishing! Love your posing schoolgirls in period costumes. Beautiful!!!
That is a wonderful step back in time. An excellent enjoyable series, my friend with the artistic eye.

Thanks for posting, and a look into our past. Lived on L.I. for 6 decades and never visited OBRV. there is so much colonial history in Nassau and Suffolk. Most residents are unaware of the history. There are several locations where Washington really slept.

Thanks so much Donna and glad you enjoyed this set of the series!! All the houses and business in this 'pretend' village came from all over the country and all that is done by the people who work there, is done exactly how it was in those days. It's an amazing place, but of course we went on one of the hottest days... but still enjoyed it!

Thank you my dear, sweet friend... glad you enjoyed!! It was really fun walking back in time and to witness how crafts and just everyday chores were done back then.
Glad you enjoyed this set of this series!!
Hope all is well on your end of the country!! Take care!

Glad you enjoyed going back in time with me, Bob!! I think I visited there many years ago when my kids were in school for a class trip, but it's geared more toward adults who really appreciate the history as it was. LI is full of history and sadly I haven't been to many of them, but I'm taking it a little at a time!
More to come in this series!
Great shots, Angela! I love them all, and they remind me of Little House on the Prairie. Of course they never showed the outhouse on the show. Haha! Can you imagine trekking out there in the dead of winter? Not me! Thank God for indoor plumbing. The students in their outfits are so cute, but they must have been dying from the heat. We don't realize how easy we have it these days.
Thanks for the background info, very interesting and what a great project. I can't wait to see more!
Great share, Angela. Sad to admit, but of all the times I've been by that area I've never heard of this project. Bet it would be a hoot to see around the holidays filled with activities. Can you imagine walking in and watching the school marm writing 'Google' on the blackboard?
My wife's aunt lives in Manhasset...just try and picture where that school house would fit in the neighborhood! Ha!
Very interesting Angela, I bet the girls are glad they do not have to wear clothes like that any more...
