This isn't the first time that B&H has gone above and beyond for me on some issue. The latest, I ordered a Formatt Firecrest 100mm filter holder. It has a circular adapter with a lip that fits into your lens' front threads. The kit came with 82mm, 77mm, 72, and 67mm adapters. These adapters also hold a thin CPL on the front, with an ingenious way of rotating when everything is assembled.
Anyway, I managed in all the confusion to misplace the 82mm adapter. I emailed B&H support, told them I had misplaced it, asked how to get another one (just the part). That was on a Friday, and I know full well they are closed for Shabat on Saturday. So today, I get a reply from them, they're sending me the replacement part (which sells for $39) for FREE.
I can't believe these guys. I almost never buy from anyone else, anyway, but this really seals the deal for me.
I'll write a review of the filter holder sometime later after I've given it some use. It has one flaw that is between annoying and serious.
Thank you B&H!!!
I agree. I bought a new iPad from them and on the day that UPS was supposed to deliver the tracking info didn't say that it was out on the truck for delivery. In fact, the tracking hadn't been updated since the day it hit Memphis TN. So the next day I called B&H and told them about it and they told me they'd check into it. Two days later they said my claim had been approved and that they would resend my order the next day. I guess UPS is screwing up big time because I got the second order and UPS called me a few days later looking for the original lost package. B&H came through even though the first order was not found before re-sending my order. Bravo B&H. Also, I bought a printer from B&H about 3 weeks before this, and when UPS delivered it, the box was very much destroyed. I took pictures of the box and made the UPS guy note the damage before he left. I carefully documented everything while opening it but luckily the printer was fine. That's my Canon Pro-1000 that costs $1299. But another case of UPS screwing up - which has nothing to do with B&H other than maybe they should start using DHL or FedX exclusively instead of UPS.

Makes you glad UPS isn't in the photo equipment business, doesn't it?
Here in rural north central WI, I actually prefer delivery by USPS (I know, I know...they're not perfect either). For the most part tho, they have been more reliable and on-time than UPS or FedEx. Very glad to hear you got such first-class service from our friends at B&H!

FedEx moves most USPS package traffic and a lot of the first class letter and junk mail.

Thanks for sharing your experience with B&H (especially the good ones)! All too often, one is just to hear about the negative experiences, while reporting positive ones seems to fall between the cracks ( probably because they're usually the norm)!

Hey don't knock the brown truck. You'll have at least half the posters on this site pissed at you.

I know. They're a great company with headquarters right here. They slip up fairly often though. Once I had a package out for delivery one day right on schedule. It didn't come so I looked online and the next morning it was in Dayton. Never saw it. Our regular UPS guy said sometimes the labels get scuffed and misread.

Smile when you say that. Wife actually waited for it because I ordered her an I-Pad Pro this week....it'll payoff in the long run!

Maybe that's a Calif thing. I'm a registered customer, or whatever they call it. When they see they have a package heading my way, they send me an email, and give me input as to what they do with it {I can pre-sign if I won't be home; I can tell them where to leave it; etc}. I don't recall their ever losing a package.

Well, let me tell you! This is the first time they've lost one for me. So I can't complain too much, but when my $1300 printer came all bashed up by UPS I had to think they're slipping. I also have those texts and emails from UPS. On that order I was talking about, I didn't get any messages because they lost the fricken package and therefore had no updates to give me. That is why I was so quick to call B&H. I knew something was wrong. Some UPS guy probably grabbed it and has a new iPad now. Or, someone might have taken it from a truck or it could have been damaged so bad that they couldn't read the label and it's sitting in some warehouse and they don't know what to do with it. Well, I'm sure they are looking for it. Otherwise they wouldn't have called me.

I shopped B&H from their early years til a few months ago, and always found their customer service to be excellent. Good to hear that you actually received what you ordered - they may be improving in that department.
