You have been most helpful in my decision. 80D sound like the way to go for me. Thanks Again for your input.
Best of luck! I know you will be happy with that decision.

Why change? Canon is fine. If you think of changing, why not make the jump to MILC: Fuji, Sony. Sony has the fastest autofocus on the market. Depends what you shoot. I love Nikon. Shot mostly Nikon for 40 years, but there's not much point in jumping to a D3400. That's the excellent, but low end; just one step above P&S.
Nothing wrong with Canon. At the margins, Nikons are better for some things and Canons for others. But most of us do not shoot "at the margins." Most of us are not nearly as good as our cameras, whether Canon, Nikon, Pentax. If you have a specific reason you are disatisfied, sure, but otherwise. . .

I'm a Nikon shooter (with a Canon backup P&S).and I agree completely with this post... no good reason to change as it's good gear.
If rjwallace is correct, it sounds like you want someone to talk you into the switch. I'm a Pentax and Lumix user, so I can't give you the excuse to overspend for no real reason.
I've shot with Olympus, Nikon and Canon. Olympus is better at panoramic view in my opinion. Nikon is an excellent camera, though its like some other brands, their prices reflect how very proud they are of their parts, (don't hurt me please), lol. I bought Canon because they're products are reasonable, more user friendly and allows the Amateur such as myself to really enjoy the experience, due to its versatility. They also produce everything they need to build their equipment, so when something (dare I say it) goes awry, the consumer deals with one company.

Did you actually go to some store and try how those cameras FEEL when you take them in YOUR hands? How is the grip working for YOU? Do they fit YOUR hands comfortably? are all the controls at the right place for YOU? Are YOU comfortable reading their info display or looking through the viewfinder? Just my two cents, because one visit at the store changed my view of two different cameras with nearly identical specs...
The same happened for me. I like to borrow or rent gear and try it before I plunk down serious money for it.
Don't forget to wade through ALL THE MENUS to be sure they make good sense to you. The ability to work intuitively under pressure is highly underrated!

This story will go on forever. I have only owned Canon and presently have a Canon T3i with 4 different lens. I think I want to upgrade but the stories say go with a Nikon. I feel like I have all these lens that would fit a Canon 77 or comp. Why then should I switch to Nikon where I would need to purchase a kit with lens? I see the Nikon 3300 or 3400 has pretty nice features, but is it any better then my T3i? Please give me some input, I want to stay under $1000 if buying with lens.
Yeah, why would you? You have a Canon system. Those lens's will work on a new Canon camera(your upgrade). Look at the 80D. A big upgrade from the T3i. Going to another camera make, Nikon, Sony, etc. means a whole new system and you won't get much for trade in's on your camera and lens's. So, in short, stay with Canon.
I have both Nikon & Canon (the Canon was a gift, sorta). I shoot both and quite frankly can't tell any difference. Since you have the lens I say stick with Canon.

Picking a camera is like choosing breath mints, it's all personal choice. I challenge anyone to pick two similar cameras, say a mid-level Canon and a similar Nikon, all equipped with similar range lens- then shoot a half dozen shots of similar subjects - print them on the same printer/paper- and then tell me which of those prints came from a specific camera.
Just my thoughts.
I've shot Canon since my film days and over the years I've put together a great lens kit so for me changing isn't an option plus my Canon 7D and Canon 7D Mark II work great for me so I'm not changing.
