Ever wonder what camera gear NASA astronaut Don Pettit uses to shoot his amazing photographs from the International Space Station? Here’s a portrait of Don floating around on with his massive collection of Nikon DSLRs and lenses. How much of the gear can you identify?

Does Photoshop have 'curvature of space' correction tool ?
That is a special application that you can buy, most often packaged with the underwater de-humidifier app, and a few others.

You know, we've been fed so much propaganda about white lenses that this may be the beginning of a new campaign; you know everything is cyclical so may be this is the beginning of the black lens accension?

Well maybe we should send Walowitz from the Big Bang Theory up there. At least we would get a laugh for our money. Hey what about Penny? I would go into space with her, any space!

They'd never send Sheldon up there. He'd drive everyone crazy, just like on earth.

He used to be my avatar (and idol)
Pissed off allot of UHH'rs
Bazzinga!

Now he's playing in Harvey on Broadway. That's a big step.

Is that lens reflective (mirror) or refractive?
Mirror reflex lenses are "coffee can"-shaped; Refractive (glass) lenses are cone-shaped. Both the 400-mm & 1200-mm is a refraction lens.

Sorry, it didn't look like it had any taper to it; looked like a "coffee can" to me. That's why I asked. Thanks for the response.

Now why in the 'ell would he need THAT many cameras ? Overkill to me... I could see maybe half a dozen or so...
$100,000 plus ????

I want to know why they need so many laptops?
Wouldn't one iPad & an iPhone do it?
So much waste
Not an Apple in sight

Because they care about performance, not styling. Why do you think Lenovo does better with businesses?

Really people, the taxpayer argument? Give me a break. Let's say it was 100k worth of cameras, divide that between a third of the us population 110,000,000 people, and what did you really pay? Exactly, hardly a cent.

Freebies like roads to drive on, police to protect you, fireman to put out your fires, yeah.. .the taxes are killing me.

Perhaps every road should be a toll road, and you should have to swipe a credit card before calling 911?

Conspicuous absence of white lenses up there! Obviouly that gets under Canon shooters skin!

I thinks ya all got it wrong! We all know how the feds keep pouring good money after bad and refuse to admit a bad choice. Anyone else would of cut their losses. I mean look at all those Nikons and they still can’t handle the job that 2 or 3 Canons could do!!!! Actually a great Canon advertisement! Hey did anyone bother to figure what all that shipping cost to get it there??
