Ever wonder what camera gear NASA astronaut Don Pettit uses to shoot his amazing photographs from the International Space Station? Here’s a portrait of Don floating around on with his massive collection of Nikon DSLRs and lenses. How much of the gear can you identify?

NASA astronaut Don Pettit, Expedition 31 flight engineer, poses with several still cameras in the Cupola of the International Space Station. ISS031-E-112469 (10 June 2012)

Totally agree but do we think he paid a single penny for all that equipment? Just think what it must be like to hand hold the heaviest of prime lens and not have to need a winch to raise it up to our eye.

Conspicuous absence of white lenses up there! Obviouly that gets under Canon shooters skin!

That's like bringing several Nikons to a Canon fight.

It would especially get under Canon's skin if there was a white Sony tele lens up there! They sure fool me from a distance.

Just imagine dropping your $20,000.00 camera and not worrying about it breaking. Just let go and it floats in front of you, waiting for you.

Or is it 'Nikon looking at us?'

Whenever we get the opportunity we wave at them as they sail so serenely over our house. I have taken a snap of this home from home with my trusty Nikon, but even when I crop the image to maximum magnification I cannot see Don Pettit (perhaps he is to petite  )

That's pretty funny. It's great to see them all floating in a weightless environment.

Joking aside could this be a posed picture of all the Nikon gear on the Space Station or is it really the gear one person uses.

Anyone that believes this man owns all that gear is possibly not thinking this through?

So you don't think that Nikon wouldn't have given him all these cameras? Just think of the advertising it would provide. Give him one of everything and make sure the world knows it's a NIKON. I bet Canon would have done the same thing.
