I never thought of that, but that's another advantage. Thanks
I keep my camera manual as a PDF on my Kindle. My Smartphone is a Blackberry, Desktop and Laptop are PC Windows based. All my music is MP3, I live my life Apple Free.

I have a Kindle Fire and for the most part I like it. But it seems to me that the battery charge doesn't last as long as I thought it would. And the screen is terrible outdoors.
Have you tried changing the background to black with white letters? I found that took care of the problem.
I love my Kindle Fire. I have the regular old Kindle I use for just reading, but I use the Fire to watch movies, TV shows, play games, etc. If you have a netflix, hulu+, or HBOgo account, you can watch anything on there. It's especially nice if you're traveling. I've been using mine to catch up on a series while on lunch and break at work.
Who all uses a Kindle Fire, and do you happen to know of a good source with inexpensive deals?[/quote]
Google is supposed to announce a new 7" tablet tomorrow at an I/O development conference in Ca. It has a 1.3GHz QUAD core processor with 8GB or 16GB onboard RAM and be running the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Price is rumored to be $200 for the 8GB and $250 for the 16Gb tablet.

Here in new zealand we dont have kindle fire, Australia has it but without alot of the options usa has.
Also the public libray e books are not in a kindle format, they can be converted calibre but then the digital rights managenent gets in the way.
I have comercial software to remove it.
It all gets a bit over the top.
We pay a lot more for our units as well , sure we can buy from usa but international freight can sometimes be huge.
I have a fire. Love it. Color magazines render well on it.
I have a Kindle Fire and I love it. It's worth every bit of the $200. I too haven't seen many discounts. Photos loaded on really display beautifully!
I use the Toshiba tablet, great picture, great battery. I have the kindle app on it it works great also on the SD card have a rather Lg portfolio of my pictures. I use it to show clients and potential clients my work, reading books, magazine's, etc. I love it!

From time to time, I have been a little jealous of my wife's Kindle. She has the plain jane one, as she has no need for color or video. She just reads books on it. What I like is that the only time it uses battery is when she changes pages. So battery life is superb.
the reason I haven't bought one is that most of the photographic magazines and books, have color illustrations, which I think are imperative for our use.
The bad thing is that I have to carry books around, and I'm now thinking I'd like to get a Kindle Fire so that I can just have my photographic magazines and reference material in one little device that I can have in my camera bag.
