I always liked Mark Twain's comment on stupid people.
"Don't argue with them. They'll pull you down to their level and then beat you with experience!"
You can only laugh and move on.

There is a cure for ignorance, however; medicine hasn't invented one for STUPID yet. After over 25 years in this business you will never hear all of them. Has a lady come to me while shooting Motocross and ask if my camera was good enough to shoot a car that had been restored. I wanted to come up with a good one but only smiled and said as long as the car isn't older than me.....

I'm afraid our country is simply overwhelmed by stupidity. Like the Bart Simpson T-shirt, "Underachiever and Proud of it." Kids don't want to be seem to be too smart, or they won't be accepted. I guess that stays with them through adulthood.

Nice portraits, probably better off without those particular jobs, Bob.

Imagine what would have happened if the reverse had occurred. You go to the door, and a black woman asnwers. You say, "Oh, I'm sorry. I can't take pictures of black people."

i view photos for the work gone into them, not what or who is in them, surely what you speak of is racism pure and simple ?,
i live in the UK and do not know how bad a problem (if it is ?) int he USA,
but the women in your photo,s are stunning, thats what they are women,i dont see colour !!

Graham (siamesecatmanuk)

People are people, skin color makes know difference in whether a photographer is capable of taking the picture. Racism pure and simple, if the mother wanted a black photographer then she should have asked for one. Awesome pictures of the Ladies by the way, keep up the good work.

Very strange week, someone wanted some photos of their son's team playing baseball and I went done to meet with them. I took my best baseball pictures with me and some other sport pictures and had a great presentation on my lap top with me. They asked to see my flower and landscape shots. They were told by someone that flower and landscape shots were how you could tell a great photographer from a mediocre one. I looked at them and thought to myself, wtf! When I told them I didn't have any, they said I wasn't a good enough photographer for them. WTF?

The other one was for a senior pictures. The mother saw some of my pics that I took for a friend of her daughters. She loved the pics. I meet her at her house and the first thing out of her mouth was, "you are white!" and i said ,"no I'm Ken, nice to meet you". She didn't even open the door. Her next words made me laugh so hard, I had tears in my eyes. "How can white person take pictures of a black girl." I answered with my camera. Her reply was to shut the door. I was laughing so hard, I couldn't help myself.
It was a wasted day but I went home laughing how someone thought how you can tell if someone is an expert photographer and that white people can't take pictures of people of another race. I think the pics prove them wrong
Very strange week, someone wanted some photos of t... (show quote)

You have endured two astoundingly frustrating experiences. Whatever you did or did not do with flowers does not mean that your fast action shots are not worth buying. refusing to deal with a photographer of a different race is off the charts racism. You need to upgrade not your equipment, but your clients.
