How many images do you expect to shoot per year? The 7D mk II is anticipated to be around 200,000, so this is about 12% used. Let's say you have an estimated 175,000 shots left. You should be able to work out how many years you have before a shutter replacement may be needed and they're not horribly expensive.

Hello Peterff, I've actually never kept track... the research I've read so far is that it can be between 25K to 50K or more for some per year. I will start keeping track now and it's good to know I can have the shutter replaced if and when I need it! I wonder why the 7DII is anticipated with only 200,000 for this model. Again I have read recently that average shutter longevity could be around 300,00 and it is possible for them to go longer.
Thank you for your input!

Thank you Richard. I will probably go with the purchase as the owner is conscientious and has looked after his gear.

Sounds good to me, a conscientious owner and a camera that's just getting started at that shutter count for a price you're happy with.

Shutter life can vary like any mechanical device, but this may help you: http://www.shutteractuations.com/canon-eos-camera-shutter-lifetime/

In the Canon world an entry level Rebel is about 100,000, the old 7D about 150,000, and the top of the line 1D family 300,000 to 400,000.

Back in the manual camera film days it wasn't really feasible to count shutter actuations, but the things like the Canon F-1 or the Nikon F I believe were only rated for about 150,000.

You can probably workout your weekly, monthly or annual usage. How many cameras do you use? The image numbers probably have a numeric code - it typically resets to zero at 9,999 -
so if you look at your image file numbers for a year or six months or whatever you can probably get a good estimate.

25,000 in two years - this camera - is roughly 35 frames per day, every day for two years, or 240 frames every week for two years. How does that compare to your usage?

Wow, you've done the homework AND the math for me, for this I thank you! I'm slowing down due to family responsibilities. Might shoot a couple times a week up to 10 frames. At the odd event I might shoot 50-100 frames, but that is rare now. I should be good for awhile! I would be sharing with my full frame Canon. Much appreciation Peterff.

Thank you RickSr, the care given to gear is important to me as well!

You are very welcome, I would be very happy buying this camera unless there was some other reason to give me cause for concern.
