I got it yesterday. BEAUTIFUL lens too. My sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 hsm ii -- I tried it out and granted It's going to take some muscle to get used to it due to weight (My kit lenses are lightweight compared) -- But this is BEAUTIFUL.
I'll share photos as I practice with this. I have a concert event to shoot tonight so we shall see what may come :)
Take care

Post some shots now and let us see your improvement. Post them in the critique section so you can get ideas and tips on how to improve it.
Isn't it fun getting new stuff and getting used to it

Thank you Mac, I am pretty stoked over this lens. All my big name pro wedding photogs have told me this was the LENS to get :) I played with it briefly, to make sure mechanics and the glass were not hazy or any noise . It was fun - I erased the photos as they were practice but tonight I plan to get the GOOD shots :)

Excellent. I have a birthday coming in June (22nd and 75 yrs young) and my wife is letting me get a carry around lense. I'm looking at the Nikon 18-300 or the Tamron 16-300 (??) Either would get my GAS flowing.

NICE -- If you can Sarge69, GET NIKON - It's the best glass compared to Tameron. but if you go between tameron and sigma glass, go with Sigma im told.
Curious, does this Sigma lens have the same focus breathing issue that the Nikon 70-200mm have?

Good luck with that new lens...enjoy it.
Get a monopod, if you don't already have one. Did that last fall, when I bought a Nikkor 70-200 2.8. Sometimes you'll feel "overgeared", but it saves the muscle wear and tear on your arms and shoulders.

Enjoy your new lens. Post some nice images.
I bought a monopod but I hardly ever use it. AFAIK, 35mm was developed to be a light weight system, so that's what I try to assemble. I bought the Canon 70-200 F4 instead of the 2.8 for that reason. And since I use it outdoors, I can usually stop it down some. If I'm shooting indoors, I have a few faster lens that I use. I shot a lot of concerts back in the day with a Nikon 85mm 1.8 and never felt the need to expand as I used it for everything (I was a college student then so I didn't have much money, that camera and lens pretty much exhausted my funds.)
