I got it yesterday. BEAUTIFUL lens too. My sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 hsm ii -- I tried it out and granted It's going to take some muscle to get used to it due to weight (My kit lenses are lightweight compared) -- But this is BEAUTIFUL.

I'll share photos as I practice with this. I have a concert event to shoot tonight so we shall see what may come :)

Take care

The f/2.8 70 - 200mm is a fantastic lens. I have the Canon II version. Along with my Canon f/2.8 24 - 70 mm II they cover all my photography.
Enjoy the lens!

Getting a new lens or any piece of camera equipment is fun. Good luck.

Thank you Jules, I practiced with it last night at the concert and I've never had a lens this hefty before, So those who say photography is easy.. HAH -- You also don't need a gym just a good chiropractor - LOL..

I am going to get a brace but I don't know whats the best ones for your back to photograph with. Doing concerts, I am all over the place and bending in weird ways, Mostly backwards to catch that one shot.

I will see what I get - It is not an easy lens to learn on, so we shall see what I get..

Try a monopod and make sure the lens has an adapter ring on it. My Canon is about 4.5 pounds. I can hand hold it, but the monopod removes the strain of the weight,
particularly for extended shoots. I always use it for sports.
Enjoy and just ignore the idiot, JB.

Markngolf,

Thank you. I have been told it is THE one to have for my concert photography. I hope I can build the arm strength up.. its a bit more heavier than my kit lenses LOL.

Any suggestions? It does have the piece underneath to attach it to a pod..

I have a carbon fiber SLIK monopod. It's in my wife's car trunk. I'll give you the model# when she comes home. I've had it for 10 years, still in perfect condition and has never failed me. Very light but sturdy. I have quick release plates on my Canon cameras and the lens has and adapter ring. I simply attach the quick release plate on the bottom of the camera to the adapter ring of the lens. Takes a few seconds. Safe, sturdy and eliminates the weight - supported by the pod. There are many other pods. I like mine. I'll send a photo of how it attaches.
Good luck. Let me know if I can help. Feel free to PM me.
