John was wise beyond his years but at least we have him in song. Thank you for that and please feel free to edit at will! S-

JOHN ?

John Lennon - this is a response to Dave Chinn's post above, and the link in it.

Suggest you rethink wise my friend. John was a dreamer who wrote some beautiful songs most of the time under the influence of some drug or other. None of his dreams look like turning into reality. Might I mention Give Peace a Chance here?

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Unlikely I reckon boss dont you?

Bill Gates is wise our John was a dreamer. Also strange hero for you cos he was a tad rude a little bombastic and had no understanding of respect. Its what made him a hero of his time but not the guy to invite to one of your genteel dinner party's.

I think the building being centered is perfect. The image is a bit dense, but then I like dense. My first reaction was, "I wonder what this looks like without all the PP." I'm just a realist and don't appreciate all the PP work. So, if you'll help me to understand, may I ask why you applied it?

Centering may break the rules, but it felt right and sort of chose where it belonged. And if I may ask, what do you mean by dense? I'm aways curious.

As for the rest, I pretty much a purist trying to keep it like I saw it, but like the centering the shot in plain didn't feel right and once I found the right texture is sort of fit. I know it's not for everyone, and I'm okay with that as I shoot for me and if you like it even better, but it's always personal and hope it reflects.

Thank you again, and Stay Curious! S-

I really like the original posted image. I agree with previous comments that intensity of the texture might be reduced.

I'm honored by how much attention this image has received and appreciate the comment! I may be wrong, but the texture feels right. Thanks again! S-

What I realized after I got hold of the original image was that it is a very fine image with just basic raw development, and that it may be one that texture is a disservice to. I had to play with it just for the fun of it, but used a much lighter texture, and added a border and some un-birds. Thank you for sharing!

It's wonderful seeing all the different variations, especially to who shows what like it's window into the soul of how you'd do it. So fun. Thank you! S-

Min has made this image have a much "happier" feel to it than the original post. Steve, which mood did you want to convey when you made the image? Was it one of dashed dreams and hopelessness, or one of dreams just lost and possibly that was OK because they went on to other dreams?

I don't know that Lost Dreams are particularly happy so I like the original but it's amazing to see what everyone else wants it to be! S-

Glad this isn't a my image/your look competition, because at the moment it's a three-way tie for me

Steve's, Dave's, Minnie's are all so different, but what they have in common is a very strong POV that sets the mood immediately. Super congrats to all!

I feel blessed when an image calls to me, but even more when friends put this much effort into giving it their spin. It's been a learning experience! S-

I like the image very much the texture matches the scene nicely, I think. I'm guessing here; but assume that you placed the texture over the image then used a mask to take the texture away from the areas in the foreground and the shack. It also looks to me like you blurred the edges of the sky and land intersection to blend the edges of the mask? Nicely done.
Erich

Thank you do much! I'll say sure to the rest and leave it there...

It is a quality image, of the minimalist variety, so it would be hard to do anything to it that didn't look pretty good.

Start with a good subject, add spices to your liking, stir and enjoy! laf

Okay, so a step or two to the left might have saved something. It would be easy to
fix a comp but now it's too late. Sort of obvious a lot of something else was lost.
I think you stepped on it with your muddy shoes.
You gotta learn to watch out for that processing thingie.

I shoot for me and I like it! S-

Maybe I didn't think it needed one if you read the entire post. S-
