The US tries to have secondary safe guards with many of the things they do. But just because the US does doesn't mean other countries do.

Example: USSR has Nuclear power plants with different designs and limited safe guards - look at Chernobyl. Japan had American technology help but refused to use secondary safety precautions (redundant safety system the Americans pleaded for them to use) - look at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

Why would a leader like Kim Jong-un care about safety. He is in a race to get something going nuclear. Look at his method of cleaning opposition out when his authority is challenged (in his own mind) that included his own relatives. Uncles, his half-brother recently and many others assassinated etc.

Lives and safety for the population is not on his mind. Probably heads roll - really heads roll - when a missile does not launch correctly. No safety switches are necessary because it will work or the higher ups pay the penalty with no regards to the safety of the population.

North Korea will probably not be a problem much longer. We'll take out the fat little midget and the citizens of North Korea will thank us. Their generals will get in line or die. Pretty simple actually. Then North Korea mirrors South Korea and soon we'll be buying cars from North Korea.

Re: In invisible lasers. Typically, laser light IS invisible. When you do see a laser beam it's because the light is bouncing off particles like steam, fog, smoke, dust, etc.
Don't look into a laser to see if light is coming out. You may never see anything again.

So why does a laser on a gun appear as a red dot on a target? I'm not trying to be argumentative. Just curious.

I think they can make them most any color. Green is the color that's supposed to to be the easiest to see.

Maybe it's just in the movies. I'm thinking of adding a laser to one of my Ruger pistols. I've heard they are pretty hard to sight in but I have some weapons experts to help out. Then I might add one to my AR-15.

Actually a laser can be either a beam of light like we see in the Star Wars movies or just a dot where it ends up at. There are both kinds and in fact a I have an example of each. I do Astronomy and have a beam of light laser which is used to point out stars in the sky to others (this one is green), and a dot laser used for aligning the mirror in a Newtonian scope (this one is red). Neither one do you want shone in your eyes.

I've got a laser on my G43. Wasn't to hard to sight in. You need to sight it in at a given distance.

I'll keep that in mind. Probably looking at about 25 - 50 ft. with the Ruger 9mm.

Take your pick. One or the other. Sighted in at 25 feet will end up lower at 50 feet. Left or right is more important. Of course, if you're shooting at center body mass (God forbid) then it's still close 'nough. Take some sand bags to the range with you. My laser has a nice bright LED that I can turned on and off independently of the laser.

It was a joke. The Klingons came back from the future and gave us cloaking tech.

I know that this has nothing to do with anything, but just wondering if that idiot midget (dear leader Un) is the fattest man in all of North Korea. Curious minds might want to know.

You often hear stories out of North Korea about food shortages. The fat midget is probably why. Hr gets all the dog meat and everyone else only gets rice.

I might believe it, if it happens on their next launch. And why wasn't this technology put into action on previous missile launches?

They may be able to make it harder to find but it is not totally invincible unless they have new technology to do so. Still it would be hard to hide its engines noise and heat signature too (four very large and powerful engines). There is more than one way to detect an air craft and I'm sure China has given that piece of doggy doo doo the latest and greatest in equipment. The USA has been kissing his back end for decades, so imagine what China has done him when he has his tantrums over the years.

Yep. Then China stole the technology and is selling it to us.
