Note that it says "Please note this is no longer compatible with Lightroom
2."
I doubt too many folks are still using LR 2.

You didn't read to the end. It says:
Latest Version: 2.0.5599 (History)
Please note this is no longer compatible with Lightroom 2 (
Lightroom 2, not just Lightroom). Then further down it states:
Requirements:Adobe Lightroom 3 or newer
In other words, it works with Lightroom 3 or newer, just not with Lightroom 2

Are they various files or just images? When I look for dupes, I try to limit where I look. Letting a dupe finder run wild on a 4TB drive can turn up lots of false positives. I intentionally have images in more than one folder for convenience.
I have never gotten through an entire session of checking and deleting duplicates - too tedious. In many cases, files that seem like duplicates aren't. Files in different folders have the same name, but they're totally different.
Give us a follow-up report when you're finished.

This is specifically for finding duplicate images in your Lightroom catalog. If it isn't an image file and in your LR catalog, this won't find it. It looks at the EXIF data that you select.

It's no longer compatible with Lightroom 2, per their site.
A couple little quirks with this plugin I've found which I hope will be helpful to anyone who decides to try this plugin:
First, when you run the plug in to find duplicates, what it does is create a "smart collection" called "Duplicate Photos" This has several sub-collections: "All Duplicates," "Edits- Least," "Edits - Most," "File - largest," "File - Smallest," "Import Date - newest," "Import Date - oldest," "Megapixels - least," and "Megapixels - most."
However, when you first look at this "smart collection" it shows "0" files in all categories. But as soon as you click on one (like "All Duplicates" it fills in all with the numbers of duplicates).
Another thing to keep in mind - because it just creates a "Smart Collection," you can't delete photos from your hard drive directly from the smart collection. What you need to do is flag pictures you want to delete as "Rejected" (Just right click the flag in the upper left of a pre-view image).
Once you have flagged a bunch as rejected, get out of the smart collection (Go to "My Photos" under Folders) THEN, under the Photo menu Photo >> "Delete Rejected Photos." This will delete the rejected photos from your hard drive. If you do this while still in the smart collection, it will just remove the photo from the smart collection, but it will not delete it from the hard drive. Thus the same photo will reappear when you run the plugin again.
I am afraid I don't get it. This plug in searches the catalog looking for image files that appear to be duplicates. So the only way for them to get there is to import files twice. Why? If you want to treat it as a different image just make a virtual copy. That creates an additional catalog entry but that use a much smaller amount of memory. In my case a raw file out of the camera averages 30 MB or so the corresponding catalog entry averages 12 KB or so. Around 3,000 times smaller. You see I am a prototypical nerd so I ran too many experiments to determine those numbers. BTW adding a collection or putting and image in several collection adds so little to the catalog that I couldn't come up with a usable number. Anyway I wouldn't bother to delete virtual copies to shrink the catalog. Yes, a trip to PS and back adds a file but I wouldnt call that a duplicate. So what have I missed?

Actually it has been pointed out to me 4 times. Evidently people do not read the replies in the threads and just prefer to comment.
Happens all the time.

I just assume that nobody believes me and they wait for confirmation.
Assume??? you know how that is described. Well enough of this thread. We are way off track.
